Windows Server 2003 + PHP + MySQL

Recommended Posts

Hey guys... just an inquiry.

Have any of you installed PHP 4.3.4 and MySQL 4.1 on a windows server 2003 box? I'm thinking about doing this, but don't want a ton of headaches and what not. If any of you have input, suggestions, or just experiences and examples they're all welcome here.

Thanks

There's nothing wrong with installing PHP on Windows Server 2003.

If you plan on using IIS then the information on how to install PHP is here:

I have installed the phpdev package on my win2k3 server and it works like a charm.

And I do recommend an apache webserver rather IIS.

Apache is ten times easier to configure and less picky. (yeah thats my opinion)

You can get the phpdev package at firepages.com.au

cool :D

I am going to keep IIS, tho, because i plan on using .NET too, and we all know that won't happen very well with an apache server. Yes, i know theres a GNU .NET package out there, but i think i'd prefer the real thing... at least for right now.
