Nice, this one seems sort of minor, personally, since it was 10.8.2 and 10.8.3 that gave huge fixes for my Mac Mini. :)

But, that iMessage fix may do me well.

FYI, the operating system's name is "OS X". Apple dropped the "Mac" part.

I heard reports about iMessage being as buggy as it has always been.

We'll see if it takes a 10.9 for Apple to fix such trivial bugs.

The FULL installer for 10.8.4 is also available on the MAS, im downloading it now and will verify that it is 10.8.4

with 10.8.1 and 10.8.2 even thought the MAS said it was those versions it still took a week or so for the actual file download to update from the previous version, 10.8.3 took 2 days

iMessage has worked great for me apart from the odd failed message, i narrowed it down to slow syncing. If i receive a message on my iphone and try to reply from the mac without letting the message hit my mac first then it usually fails... it will either take several attempts to send it, or eventually the incoming message hits my mac then it will send.

Still no word on the slow shut down, it should be instant on SSD macs

Unusually useful for a release like this. Both out of order messages in iMessage and the desktop background choice not sticking have been pretty widely reported issues. I'm happy they caught both.

That's funny! I ran the update and within 5 minutes of me using it Safari crashed.. i hope this isn't a sign of things to come, it hasn't crashed for me in like ever.

Well I've not seen Safari crash but the boot time has gotten worse from ~24 seconds to ~29! Seems to time out between finishing FIPS or something and DSMOS has arrived for about 5 seconds.

I've got an early 2009 imac and it has made nearly everything for me faster including boot time and resource heavy apps like parallels and Xcode
