ctrl_alt_delete
E3 is over, but Microsoft still has a long way to go to answer questions from gamers about its new Xbox One console, particularly when it comes to the effects of DRM. Director of Programming of Xbox Live Larry Hryb aka Major Nelson takes on the most upvoted ones from posters in Reddit's games section in this video interview with Chloe Dykstra. One question that seems to have a clear answer is whether banned users will lose access to any games they've activated, as he stated "Absolutely not, you will always have access to the games you purchased." That goes against a previous response from the Xbox Support twitter account, although that may have been the result of confusion between the Xbox One and Xbox 360 policies. A question with no satisfying response yet however, is what gamers can expect years down the road if Xbox One's authentication servers are shut down. Major Nelson followed up with a response in the comment thread that "I'll get the real answer, I just don't know it yet." http://www.engadget....d-users-will-a/ this is pretty good news to me. this is even better than steam. the only thing they need to work on right now is the license check time. Pupik
I hoped they'd lose them. Ban would actually make a difference and not just make the person make a new account and keep his behavior/hacking which might even be worse, as a result of the anger of getting banned. ctrl_alt_delete
Microsoft is rewriting the book on miscommunication. Well historically they could never communicate properly
Yogurtmaster
Well historically they could never communicate properly I do agree with you. Microsoft needs to communicate better no doubt about it. That is really their biggest failure next to $499. The DRM stuff and Internet stuff is really meaningless to me. The price however does need to be better as well as communication. Torolol
but isn't the game license were tied to your account? so if your account was banned or even deleted ...
Growled Member Posted June 16, 2013 Member Share Posted June 16, 2013 Well historically they could never communicate properly I think you've nailed it. They've always been awful at communicating.
compl3x
How are simple issues so poorly addressed? I am sure there are plenty of smart cookies at Microsoft, is this **** all the result of committee thinking or focus group analysis or something? Grizzwald
I have a feeling if Microsoft would just answer a lot of questions about all the rumors it would really help with with all the people that are holding off on preorders.

The lowest of their employees who would know anything about a new policy. j2006 1 Share
