I have a 40 MB optical fiber connection with 5 static IPs. I am planing to separate the (15 VOIP phone lines) voice and data traffic (15 PCs,2 Servers) on the network so that the PCs do not use all the bandwidth available and later call drop issues come into play.

What would be the best way to managed the bandwidth at switch ports so that we can keep atleast 5-10MB reserved for the phone lines.

I will appreciate if someone could send me VLAN setup details and devices that support VLAN setup.

QOS. Guarantee bandwidth to voice over data. If voice needs 80% of the line, it will take 80% of the line. This is simple to do with most firewalls.

Most switches that support layer 3 will do qos as well if not upgrade to a better switch/layer 4.
