Excel randomly creates .tmp files when saving to network drive


Question

Having an issue where one computer randomly creates .tmp files, saves extremely slow, or says the file is in use when it's the only one using it.

 

I've googled about and did the reset modify permissions, reset the shared settings on the folder; still having these same issues.

 

any ideas?

 

Windows 7, Office 2010, and Kaspersky Small Office

What version of Excel? Is the workbook shared (via Excel not via Windows).

 

Excel does handle workbooks opened from shared drives/network a little differently to make sure that other users cannot change it while it is open for editing or things like that.
