Unable to use different backgrounds on my two monitors

Recommended Posts

For some reason when I'm in the Desktop Background area (see first image below) and right click a background, it shows "monitor 2" twice. No matter which I choose, the background is updated for both monitors. When I'm looking at my screens, it clearly showing monitor 1 and monitor 2 (see second image below).

Any ideas?

OS: Windows 8 Pro

Video card: GeForce GTX 670

Monitor 1: HDMI

Monitor 2: DVI

Thanks

I didn't even know that was an option. I've been stupidly making 3840x1080p resolution wallpapers in photoshop because I didn't know you could set them individually.

Wait nvm, I don't have that feature. I guess it's a Windows 8 thing. But from your experience it sounds like it isn't working anyway. Did you happen to combine the two monitors together in your graphics card control panel (combining into one large resolution)? Maybe that could be it.

That's odd... Which Nvidia drivers are you using? Do you know?

Windows 8 runs on WDDM 1.2 and as such you want to make sure your Nvidia drivers include support for 1.2.

Have you tried updating to the latest? 320.49 I believe.

Nope they are two separate resolutions. But thanks because I did notice my video driver can be updated, so maybe that will do it. Probably not, but maybe.

I know that but Ultramon will solve that problem.

I have seen a few people with wallpapers problem like OP's... That's why I tell them to use Ultramon for that.. it works great.

Yeah I used that with Windows 7 so I might have to use it again. It would be fantastic if the operating system I paid for would work though!

I understand .. Just use UltraMon until Microsoft releases their final version of 8.1... It might solve the problem once you get the updated 8.1 from them.
