Phouchg
Do NOT, especially do not with images. They're annoying, in-my-face, and often people append and quote them over in long conversations over and over for some pity reason. Just add first and last name, job position, workplace and one or two alternative contact means, preferably cell/mobile number. We'll google you if you're any good at your work. PNWDweller
To answer your question though in case you want to ignore the warnings about in your face stuff. :) Use an HTML editor such as Kompozer to create your signature. Put your image you want online wherever you can share it, if your server, even better. Embed that image into your editor and make your signature look the way you want. Copy the source into your signature box for HTML in your email program and you are all set.
thelordofdarkness
Hi Med, that's what I read somewhere and wanted to do - is there a guide or something? What's Kompozer? Can I just do it with Dreamweaver? So I make a small html page out of it somewhere and then pull it in from there? But everyone's name needs to be different of course - so how does that work? Torolol
use you bitcoins / litecoins wallet address if you have Private/Public key, use that method for the message digest, which would ensure whomever receive your email know that your email isn't tampered along the way. Nick H. Supervisor Posted August 30, 2013 Supervisor Share Posted August 30, 2013 It can't be stressed enough how much this could potentially be a bad idea. Signatures should be simple to the extent where this question shouldn't need to be asked. Firstname Lastname Position Address Phone number Company name That's how my signature is set out at work, with "company name" being a very small (74x43 pixels) image of the company logo. As for how to create it? Because it's all text and just one image file it's relatively simple, and there are a couple of ways to do it, but it depends on what email service you are using and which client (if any) you are using. cooky560 Veteran Posted September 4, 2013 Veteran Share Posted September 4, 2013 Many e-mail clients don't show signature images correctly, instead adding extra attachments to the e-mail, containing your e-mail signature, this looks unprofessional and if you are actually sending an attachment as well, the other person might not see it amongst the signature image attachments. So in general its wise to not use an e-mail image signature. Don't use a none standard font either, because it will render using a system font in the recipient's box and hence won't have the same effect, and may even look worse than if you'd chosen an attractive but common font. (Account no longer active)
Plain text and simple is best. I find fonts and signatures 50 lines long annoying. I would just have full name, position and company (and disclaimer if required). You have to remember that some people may still use clients that can't interpret HTML email. Nashy
I think people are over reacting with terms like 'in your face' and 'unprofessional'. There is nothing wrong with using a small logo in the signature. If it doesn't display, you of course have the text too.
