V-sync and OpenGL on Nvidia Geforce Mx440

I switched out my Radeon 7500 card in order to troubleshoot an auto restart issue with my system. The card I'm using now is a Geforce4 Mx440 AGP. I have my OpenGL v-sync setting set to "on by default". My PC games that us OpenGL like MOHAA and Call of Duty all suffer from screen tear now! ATI's cat drivers gave me the option to always use v-sync but the setting Nvidia uses just don't cut it. Is there a way to set the v-sync to always on? I'm using newest drivers by the way. Dirct X games are fine in case anyone is wondering.Thanks guys.
