reading MSN Messenger chat logs in IE (.xml files)

I remember being able to easily read MSN Messenger chat logs (which are in .xml format) in IE, but nowadays, it seems when you open a chat log in IE, it's just a giant lump of text/characters. It's not parsed properly at all.

 

Is there any way to fix this? If not, what is the most lightweight/best MSN chat log reader out there?

Turbonium, have you checked your Internet Explorer settings? I recall having a similar issue, and resetting the settings (whew) worked for me. Try resetting your Security Zones to their default levels, restart Internet Explorer, and then open the XML file(s). If this does not help, you could reset all options to default through Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Reset...

Important! If resetting your Security Zones and other options do not resolve your issue, remember to restore your security settings to their previous configurations (if the configurations were previously more secure than by default).

I installed MSN, and they open fine in IE now. Seems like IE is somehow modified to handle the XML files differently.
