Where is the file "Show Desktop.scf" file reside?.

Background:

My son was playing around on my profile in Win XP Pro. He should have been on his. I am not sure exactly what he did, but he completly removed all my icons that were in my Quick Launch Task Bar.

All of my Quick Launch Task Bar icons were on my desktop. I managed put them all back on the Task Bar.

I then deleted the copies on the desktop. The strange thing is, that the "Show Desktop" icon that was on the desktop was the real thing and not a short cut. I manged to restore it from the Recycle bin.

Also in doing so, the copy of the "Show Desktop" that I put back on the Task Bar, is no longer showing the proper icon for "Show Desktop" .

So I have 2 questions:

1) Where is the file "Show Desktop.scf" supposed to actually reside in Windows XP Pro? I know it is not supposed to be on the desktop. I never had it on the desktop before. Should it go in the windows directory somewhere?

Any speculation on how it could have been moved? There is no way my son would have done it. He's only about to turn 4 years old.

2) How can I recover the proper icon for "Show Desktop". The weird thing is, I do see the proper icon on the real copy that is on the desktop and not the version that is on the task bar. But from everythign that I can tell, the shortcut on the taskbar is pointing to the location of that which is on the desktop.

Thanks,

Zanatar.

Open notepad any type the following:

[shell]

Command=2

IconFile=explorer.exe,3

[Taskbar]

Command=ToggleDesktop

and save as "Show Desktop.scf"

It lives here:

C:\Documents and Settings\Dazzla\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Stick your own username in there.
