New Colony Events
As you colonize planets, new colonization events will challenge your people and your integrity. Each new event provides new Ideology choices that may award unique planetary improvements and ship components. Some of these events appear later in the game, so keep your eyes open!

New Improvements
During your explorations, you will uncover new and unique planetary improvements that may function differently based on your Ideology choice. Choose wisely - you can only build one improvement of each type per empire!

New Ship Components
Discover dozens of new and powerful ship components like the "Ancient Singularity Cannon", "Subspace Splinter", and the "Hyper Gate Core". Your Ideology Choice may affect how these new components work on your ship. Work fast against your enemies - each of these ancient treasures is unique and you can only have one in a fleet at a time.

The big v1.9 update for Galactic Civilizations III is now available! :)

Highlights of this update:

  • Capstone Techs: Research new techs in the Age of Ascension! These techs provide large (though temporary) empire-wide bonuses that stack as you get them
  • Performance Optimization: A newly enhanced multithreaded system dramatically improves load times and reduces memory usage.
  • A.I. and Balance: The AI has received a bit of a boost! You’ll notice that they are smarter about expanding, building fleets, and spreading influence, and more. Ready for the challenge?
  • Rich, Unique Galaxies: Performance optimizations have allowed the addition of more stars and planets, making galaxies feel even more vast than before.

Full changelog can be found here: http://forums.galciv3.com/480906/

The v2.0 update for GalCiv III is available! This update includes the addition of Administrators, big changes to diplomacy, UI adjustments, and other various improvements.

Quote

Starbase Administrators: This new resource is now required for building starbases and takes the pressure off the idea that you need to produce lots of them quickly. Administrators make it possible for smaller empires to focus on things like improving morale and productivity in their home systems.

Diplomacy Improvements: AI will now do more trading and less "give me stuff!" A new "redlining" system is used to evaluate proposals, which the AI now evaluates more carefully before accepting. When your trade offer is accepted or rejected, a screen will provide you with a detailed explanation of why so you can change your strategy for your next offer.

Ship Builder UI: Find your recently created ships more easily when they are automatically added to your "favorites." Folding categories for auto-generated military ships and showing currency, morale, population, and turn information in the shipyard window rounds out the UI updates.

I have the Gog.com version of the game.  Will I never be getting the "Civilization Builder" or is it just delayed on other distribution services?

It will be available on the GOG version, just won't have the Steam workshop integration.
