HI,

It's a little off topic. i have problem with google chrome. It works perfectly fine until yesterday when I opened a new tab it brought up something called babylon search. Then i found babylon toolbar was installed while i did not install anything for months (only updated adobe flash player and java)
Now I can't to get rid of it and it seems like I'd have to do something more than a simple removal from the "Add/Remove program" option. It must have something to do with the registry, but I can not able to clean that. The other day someone in yahoo answers suggest a babylon search removal guide, it's here
it requires to download an antivirus not heard before, I just want to make sure everything won't go wrong again.
so is there a simpler way to remove this everyone hated toolbar? Please help!

http://www.malwarebytes.org/ is another decent tool for keeping your system clean of such things as babylon search

This.

If it doesn't find anything malicious then your case is easier and you'll just have to uninstall the toolbar and reset your browser's settings.

Babylon is nothing, believe me, I've been infected with so much worse search bars that I rather qualify as pure viruses.

    • It's weird they call it RTX 5090 SE when specs wise, it's closer to RTX 5080 than it is to RTX 5090... This thing should be called RTX 5080 Super, not RTX 5090 SE...
    • I mean, of course they'll say that, they are owned by Microsoft who owns Xbox who owns id Software...
    • Naming aside, this is a huge win and something I can't believe didn't happen a long time ago. Right from the beginning, the gap between 5080 and 5090 was ridiculously huge and never made any sense at all. In the charts, look at the 5070 Ti to 5080 jump - about 1500 CUDA cores. Now look at 5080 to 5090 - a whopping 10,000+ cores! Like the 5090 is literally DOUBLE the 5080! It's crazy why it has taken this long to release a in-between model. Maybe the 5090 yields were just so good that NVIDIA never needing to release a salvage part, I don't know, but I'm glad it's happening now.
    • id Software refutes collapse rumors after Xbox layoffs, confirms engine and games are safe by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft began a massive layoff wave at its gaming division earlier this month. This saw 1,600 Xbox staff being let go immediately, with another 1,600 set to be affected within the company's current fiscal year. Even legendary studios like id Software of Doom fame were a part of this "biggest restructure in Xbox history." However, it seems not all reports about the team cuts were true. Following the layoffs wave, reports were coming out that said half of the id Software team had been let go. Soon though, more reports came out that claimed the dismissal of most (if not all) coders from the studio and even that only a single developer was remaining in the Texas location, killing the future of the id Tech game engine. However, today a statement by id Software was published on social media, revealing that its team has remained large enough to support game and engine development despite the layoffs. The studio even said that the current size of the team is at the level at which it shipped 2016's massive hit Doom, which brought back the Slayer into modern platforms. Here's the full statement by id Software: As most teams of Xbox get hit by layoffs, Microsoft is also reshuffling internal projects. Fallout is said to be one of these. Obsidian Entertainment is now reportedly making a new game in the series (with New Vegas director leading it) as Bethesda focuses on The Elder Scrolls 6.
    • I would have preferred to see it as a 5080 Ti, or SUPER but instead NVIDIA have maybe decided to nerf their own flagship. Maybe they want to keep their options open to release a full SUPER series in 2027.
