Max Chilton's down as "TBA", and Caterham still haven't decided on their drivers for 2014, so they're the only ones left.

*Vettel's chosen 5 as his number, but because he's the champion, he gets #1 for now.

Maldonado has #13. It's bad luck to start near him.

So it's a match made in heaven hell. ;)

Also the reason Chilton's number is TBA is because he chose 5, and, as he said, "didn't get it because of some guy who does this [gestures] a lot and has won a few championships"

He also said that the new number will look good in his name...

M4x? Chil70n?

Dunno, obviously 17 can't be had, so they seem likely.

Ecclestone?s F1 role reduced pending trial outcomes

Bernie Ecclestone has stepped down as a director of Formula One as he faces the threat of legal action in Germany.

A statement issued by Formula One Group confirmed Ecclestone will retain day-to-day responsibility for the sport but will come under great control from the company?s board.

Chairman Peter Brabeck-Letmathe and deputy chairman Donald Mackenzie will assume responsibility for signing ?significant contracts and other material business arrangements?, according to the statement.

It is over three years since German banker Gerhard Gribkowsky was arrested on suspicion of receiving a ?27m ($44m) bribe from Ecclestone. Gribkowsky was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison and dropped his appeal against the sentence last May.

Ecclestone is to be tried on bribery charges in Munich. Ongoing legal action surrounding the affair includes a case before the High Court in Britainin which media rights company Constantin Medien allege Ecclestone paid a bribe to ensure he would remain in control of the sport when it was sold to current owner CVC in 2006.

Dennis to make changes at McLaren after being appointed Group CEO

McLaren looks set for a major management overhaul ahead of the 2014 Formula 1 season, AUTOSPORT has learned, after former team boss Ron Dennis was appointed as Group CEO.

After the announcement, Dennis has vowed to bring change to McLaren to get it back to the front of the Formula 1 grid following a disappointing 2013 season.

AUTOSPORT understands that Dennis addressed factory staff in Woking on Thursday afternoon to outline his increased responsibilities to the F1 team.

He also made it clear that a new structure was likely to be put in place, and a change of team principal cannot be ruled out.

"There will be changes," he told the staff during the address that lasted for 20 minutes. "We will win again."

Current team boss Martin Whitmarsh, who was not present for the address, remains in charge for now and sources insist that no decision has been taken yet on whether or not he will be replaced.

A final call on the matter will however be made in February, when Dennis will outline whether Whitmarsh stays or if another figure will be appointed to run the F1 team.

Dennis, who was team principal from 1982 to 2009, has replaced Whitmarsh as the Group CEO with immediate effect.

In statement issued by the team, Dennis outlined that he had been appointed to the role with the mandate of doing whatever is necessary to get McLaren back on track.

"My fellow shareholders have mandated me to write an exciting new chapter in the story of McLaren, beginning by improving our on-track and off-track performance," he said.

"Over the coming weeks I intend to undertake a thorough and objective review of each of our businesses with the intention of optimising every aspect of our existing operations, whilst identifying new areas of growth that capitalise on our technologies, and where appropriate further investing in them."

The Formula 1 community came together this week to express its great shock and deep sadness at the news that Marussia has retained Max Chilton for 2014.

?I just can?t believe this tragic news,? said one senior F1 insider. ?It?s events like this that really make you glad for the people around you and cause you to thank God that none of them are Max Chilton.?

Anyone wishing to express their sympathy can visit the Marussia factory to leave cards, flowers or messages. But not money. They?ve now got enough of that for another year.

I think the VJM07 look quite nice from that angle. It also looks like the rear wing is lower too than it has been for recent years...I like that...I think they look better lower.

    • AMD is supported out of the box in linux because of their open source driver. Nvidia does not. All my systems are amd and all of them work nicely on linux arch without doing anything.
    • Never had a problem with TPM and started using that many years ago in Win10. Through several motherboards and OS versions, it just does what it does without complaint. My games library doesn't even know it's there. Secure boot does a lot more than support anti-cheat, as it came along long before anti-cheat software. I've used it religiously since before I started using TPM, and I always liked it for being able to nullify virus contagions that try their best to come in underneath the firmware during boot, so that the OS doesn't see them, etc. That is its purpose, imo. I'll never understand why people who elect to use another OS feel compelled to run down Windows... I guess they need to do that to feel secure about their choices? I run Windows because it supports all the software (including games) natively that I want to buy, and I've never had to run down another OS to make me feel better about it. (Although it's certainly possible to do that, of course...) Win10 is on a ventilator atm, and Win11 is very close to being free, and I finally got to stop running StartAllBack as I moved to the Experimental/Dev channel and my 26300.8553 build supports the moveable taskbar and it's running fine at the top of the screen! Finally, my last major dislike of Win11 is being rectified! So, I'm not at all surprised to see Win11's share of the Steam survey hitting 70%.
    • I can answer about the Linux bit. I only used AMD GPUs. I currently have a 9060XT (8GB) that fits my needs, I'm not a gamer, so I don't need that much GDDR. But lately, NVIDIA has grown a lot in the recent years. Oh, the horrors of NVIDIA drivers not working. But they have been getting better. I know a lot of members onm here that are running cachyOS and other distros, and are fine with a 4090/5090 variants. Really, though, I would stick with AMD variants.
    • Everything they say you can already do yourself on the registry by changing some things.
    • Artist's renderings are so much nicer to view than the real thing, don't you think?
