My TV only has 2 HDMI inputs, but I have 3 devices with HDMI outputs, so I either need to find a splitter that maintains HDCP (Since the PS4 at least uses it), or use the passthrough in the Xbone.

I have a ridiculous A/V rack. My receiver has 6 inputs, of which 6 are used. With passthrough, I can rig my PS4 through the Xbox, leaving a port free for legacy consoles.

Microsoft said this is a bad idea, you'll have to deal with some pretty bad latency which is fine for video but not for interactive gaming. So there's no actual real world usage. Nobody who actually plays games on the PS4 will do this.

Yup, won't be playable.  The lag would not be acceptable.

It's still going to introduce SOME. Even if minuscule, novelty aside, just hook it up direct (unless you are in Brians situation).

There would be latency, but nothing compared to what Gaikai streaming on the PS4 would introduce (for example)

I mean, the actual copying/compositing process is going to be extremely fast, the problem comes down to the Xbox seeing the frame after it's been rendered, then rendering that frame the next time it goes to render, meaning that the displayed frame might be displayed ~15ms after it was originally rendered, that representing the game state 33ms in the past from there, etc.

I mean every time this mentioned, some just want jump in and crush the good vibes.

This isn't some amazing thing, but its a neat little feature that is unusual to see on a console. Some have real world uses for it that are actually useful to use with other devices. Some just like playing around with the possibilities.
