What are people using?

I bought a set of 5.1 Logitech's about 8 years ago just to replace some cacky ones i'd had for a while. I was actually blown away by how good a quality they were. to the point where i've been patching them up rather than replacing them by rewiring them every time the main input wire gets damaged.

I think it started off about 8ft long and know it's about 2 foot.

I just can;t let them go :p

sucks to be in Canada lol.... these have great reviews...

I realize a good receiver is going to cost a few dollars... and that's why I wanted to get a good starter set up then add a receiver later..

WHen I use the US website... no escape for me... ohwell..

  Order Summary

Items: $349.00 Shipping & handling: $135.57 Total before tax: $484.57 Estimated tax to be collected: $0.00 Import Fees Deposit $72.49 Order total: $557.06

Those are just speakers, you have nothing to drive them....you would need a receiver.  You are better off with the 400 klipsch with the pioneer from tiger if you are looking to be in that price range.

A good setup will put you around 2-3000, a great setup between 5 and 10000, excellent...well the sky is the limit...Here is an example of good to excellent (this is just a receiver setup http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00COO4OCU?psc=1). You are still in the small budget area.

sorry, I was just putting things into perspective.  I would think that the $400 system with the Klipsch speakers would be a much better setup, but I do advise that you listen to them first.  I wish that you could listen to computer speakers in the same setting as you can with the home audio stuff.

I know out of your price range, but I really like this setup:

http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-RF-42II-Theater-Bundle-FREE-Acoustech/dp/B005F6OFTQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1387898796&sr=1-2&keywords=rf-42

And match with a decent reciever like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Marantz-SR6007-Home-Theater-Receiver/dp/B0081N91BC/ref=sr_1_3?s=tv&srs=2529848011&ie=UTF8&qid=1387899088&sr=1-3&keywords=marantz

You will be very very happy with the sound quality, power, and capability of the setup.  This is a low to mid range setup, not budget area, not quite mid.  This will kick ass out of any bose setup, IMHO.

yup this thread was quite an experience.. I learned a lot ...

and guys i'm going to settle for the Z906... it came today and i'm loving it. Better than the bose if you ask me.. and cheaper..

using a laptop - kind of dated too.. This Z906 is making me want to get a sound card lol...

    • So you think I voted out because i am anti-immigrant. I am fed up with those that come over and think that we owe them something. The ones that are at the moment coming over from France where they are already in a safe country because they think and no doubt will get everything chucked at them. While people who were born and bred here get very little. I have nothing against as i have said before those that come here and work. In fact I know full well that our NHS would struggle without them. I do have a problem with those that come over here and try to push their religion and their way of life onto us. My reasons for voting out was because of what the E.U is and is also becoming. I did not agree with Freedom of movement, not because I don't want people over here, but because people need to be checked before being allowed to cross borders and that goes both ways. But my main thing was because the E.U is becoming if not already a united states of Europe. The only reason countries like Poland and Romania joined was because they had no money. When my partner left Poland, she had nothing, Poland had nothing, that is why she left. Wanted to learn something and earn a living. The E.U would have us back according to Michel Barnier. https://www.euronews.com/my-eu...ator-barnier-tells-euronews Why are you so scared to say what country you are in?
    • I wonder what that line really meant...

Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools.
