I use to be a HUGE Newegg ###### back in the day . But ever since I found out that Amazon has pretty much everything I search for PLUS Amazon Prime (Free 2 day shipping on Everything Amazon themselves sell + $4 extra for next day) I really haven't been back to newegg for a while. Plus their customer service is great.

So what will it be Newegg or Amazon

Since Amazon started charging sales tax, I only purchase from Amazon when I can't find something somewhere else, or the price (including the tax) is much less than I can find it elsewhere.

With Newegg, you can use Shoprunner for free 2-day shipping much like Amazon Prime.

Amazon Prime is nowhere near perfect.  I've had shipments that are supposed to be guaranteed 2-day shipped via regular mail or UPS Ground (which has no guaranteed delivery time), and always take longer than 2 days.  When you call them, they just add another month to your service, and say they will try to do better.  I wish they would stop trying to be skimpy.  If they guarantee 2-day delivery, that is what I expect.

Eh I've used Newegg for a few years for plenty of purchases, always had good results so never had a desire to go elsewhere. Hell I may even have to order dog food next time I buy upgrades, save a trip to the grocery. Only things I ever bought from Amazon was a couple Kindles and a few books.

I have used Newegg once or twice in the past, but Amazon has seen a close running with eBay for my online purchases.  I have found several items much lower than eBay's for some electronic items, but not always.  What I don't care for with their Amazon Prime is it only applies for items shipping from their warehouses.  I found that I was buying more items from third party sellers on Amazon which had a lower price than them, this did not translate into any Prime shipping.

Otherwise, Amazon seems to be pretty good.  We have only had one issue with them that needed customer service.  My wife had a birthday gift shipped to her from her Mom who used Amazon to order it, but it was back ordered until May of the next year (ordered it in December at the time), with her birthday being in January, I called them and complained that their online stock check should have shown it was out of stock, their customer service was on the ball so to speak and located a shipment they had (probably via one of their third party sellers) and were able to send it out in time to us for her birthday in spite of their 'back order' status.

I started shopping Newegg a long time ago before Amazon. Eventually I started to use Amazon which has been for a good while now too. I don't like how Newegg sells more than computer parts now. It is a pain when I am getting bombarded to buy dog food. lol

When I build a system I like using Newegg because I can browser computer parts a lot easier. I shop Amazon when buying only one or a few computer parts. Amazon has had better prices than Newegg for a good while now so I think I will always buy from Amazon from now on. I will use Newegg to browse parts and then buy them on Amazon. I have bought close to over 10,000 dollars at Newegg over the years and one time I had an issue with something and they would not give me an exchange or refund. My order was out of their policy at the time but you think they would work with me since I am a great customer. That is another reason it is a good time for me to stop buying at Newegg. I will always use Newegg's reviews for computer hardware when deciding to buy something.

I've stopped liking Newegg when they decided they wanted to compete with Amazon.  Newegg used be a place for mostly PC Parts, now you can buy dog food from the site.

HA! OMG ... you totally can!

Yep, Newegg's really gone downhill now that they're daily deals are now full of listings for juice extractors and necklaces.

I used to swear by Newegg, and I still like them but I agree they have really gone downhill. The prices and the selection just aren't that great anymore and there are so many third party sellers on there now, and so many cheap junk brands. Newegg's Black Friday sales were terrible too, no better than their usual daily deals. I'm using Amazon a lot more these days but I still check Newegg and even Tigerdirect when I'm buying computer parts.

I use Newegg only because I'm currently living in Canada (Amazon doesn't offer nearly as much), though if I was back in the US I'd be using Amazon for sure.  Granted I don't even use Newegg as much as use NCIX and just price match everything I buy on there.

Newegg was great back in the day, and I still purchase computer parts from them about 50% of the time (and 50% amazon) but their marketplace and alternative sellers seem really out of place and mostly peddling junk. I actually feel kind of bad for Newegg because I think Amazon is a big threat to them. Amazon is the Wal-Mart of the internet; no one can beat their prices.

Still, nothing beats Newegg product reviews. :)

NewEgg used to get tons of my money. That stopped ages ago... Amazon really makes them look foolish now...

Use "free shipping" on NewEgg and you'll be waiting a month for your part as they somehow take weeks to ship it from Newark, NJ to Philadelphia, PA. I can drive it in under 90 minutes... ShopRunner helps alleviate this problem, but it is too late. I'm far to used to Amazon's prime shipping where I can order it and have it as soon as the same day in Philadelphia or free Sunday delivery. Not to mention the prices are almost always cheaper.

If I am ever in a pinch I can always drive to MicroCenter and get it same day with Amazon and NewEgg price matching.

Honestly, I have no need to visit NewEgg...

    • New Outlook for Windows and Web is getting a simple but very useful email feature by Sayan Sen Recently Microsoft put up a blog post highlighting not one, not two, but 15 total reasons why it feels you should switch to New Outlook already. If that was not enough, the company is bringing another new feature soon that could finally compel you to switch over to the new app. According to a recent update on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the tech giant is making changes to how message sorting works when users choose criteria besides the traditional options of From, Subject, or Date Received. The idea is to provide better options for the attribute being used for sorting and make it easier to understand why messages appear in a particular order. For those unfamiliar Outlook already allows users to sort emails using a variety of fields including sender, category, importance, subject, and message size. Users can access these options through the Filter menu in Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web. With the upcoming change, whenever users sort by a field other than From, Subject, or Date Received, Outlook will automatically display an additional column showing the value being used for the sort. For example, if messages are sorted by Size, a Size column will appear in the message list, allowing users to immediately see the data that determines the ordering of emails. Microsoft believes this should make sorting behavior simpler and reduce the need to manually adjust views or inspect individual messages. Support for sorting by Flag Due Date is also coming and should be especially be helpful for users who rely on email flags to manage follow-up tasks and deadlines. The feature is listed under Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 564803 and is expected to reach general availability beginning later this month itself (June 2026). You can find the entry here. As always though, users should keep in mind that roadmap timelines can change and rollout schedules may occasionally be adjusted by Microsoft. Outlook for Web is also set to receive this feature.
    • That is true. but the liability side of my balance sheet is clean and has been for decades.  Nobody comes a knocking,  calling or writing harassing me for the money i owe them.😎👍  Haven't dealt with "a money changer" in decades and like Jesus it was in Jerusalem.  Don't have much money, but have even less stress in my life.👍👍     P.S.  Sorry, can't walk on water or change it to wine,
    • Maybe ? DLSS Swapper (can swap the DLSS/FSR/XeSS versions) as long as the game (typically online/competitive) doesn't checks for file tampering. You can try different version(s) or update if not the current version of the FSR. https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper
