Hello,

So today is my birthday.

How do you feel about your birthday? To me its something very important and I mentally jot down who congrads me and who doesnt. Also what do you do?

Today is a workday (means I have to go to work today and work tommorow) so its a bit more limiting than a weekend but...what would you do?

Happy Birthday, (might want to adjust the date in your personal details)

And it's about the same for me, I prefer my birthday to just pass by, very little celebrating (if any), when asked at my last birthday, I just said I was celebrating the 20th Anniversary of my 18th Birthday :p

(plus I hate the reminder that I now have 1 year less left to live)

Thank you.

I think you misunderstood me; For me, my birthday is a very special day. Hell, I would make it a national holiday for all to celebrate. Its the only day of the year where I can be selfish, think of myself, and nothing else...

Hello,

Many Many Happy Return of the day :)

For me, it's just another day, I don't celebrate it & don't think anything special about it.

Thank you.

Well, I consider it another year that I have been able to keep surviving without dying. I do like to celebrate it and think very special of it :)

you're welcome & you must be replying to Aheer ? but nice thinking I must say :)

Make it special. Take the day off. Spend a few hours playing games at an arcade instead - that's what I would do. Then go and watch a movie. Spoil yourself - it's worth it. Celebrate that you've turned another year older!

If you have to work, let your boss know so your workmates can organize something (at least a cake at morning tea time). But still, do something special later on.

If you don't, you'll probably end up feeling depressed.

Enjoy your day!

Well, happy birthday then! :D  :fun:

How do you feel about your birthday?

That sentence reminds me of :

For me, it's just a day I can hang out with a bunch of friends, and an excuse for them to get drunk, as I don't drink. :)

Every year I have 30 days off. There are 2 weeks in the year I reserve for festivals here so technically its just 15. I came back from a 2 week vacation (I had 15 days I legally have to take) so getting ANOTHER day off wouldnt seem right.

Another thing is my friends and love ones work so celebrating it alone is kidna boring and depressing.

Ive brought in some small pastry cookies so my work coworkers can enjoy :)

My plan for now is dinner at a italian my favorite food :) Dont know which sauce to ask my pasta with though :p

Happy birthday.

It seems to be a Firefox bug. Firefox 26 vs IE 9

Odd, I'm on 26.0 myself and I have the like buttons. So again, it's possibly something on your end. Have you done the usual steps (clear cache, etc.)?

I don't consider birthdays all that special. Sure, I've survived another year. Yippy-something-do. In the past I've taken the day after my birthday off, but that's to deal with the hangover that my friends cause me. This year it happens to coincide with a friend's hen party, so I'll be out of the office during the time anyway.

Happy Birthday :)

I don't care too much for birthdays, I'll occasionally use it as an excuse for a holiday (21st spent in Rome, 25th spent in Florida).

Nothing planned for turning the wrong side of 25 next month.

Take a day off or two, indulge in intoxicants, good food, the missus, video games and just generally be a lord of leisure.

    • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
    • How do you connect 5.1 Speakers to this thing?
    • I agree with both of you... It's absolutely imperative that science is completely based on actual proven facts and hard evidence and is not considered dogmatic in any way. Science is not a religion and it will never be, and that's exactly how it's supposed to be.
    • I'd basically agree. The only point I would add is to be careful not to treat science as a religion, complete with priests, dogma, and blasphemy. Humans are highly susceptible to religious-oriented ways of thinking since it aids in forming communities of like-minded people. The problem is that when this happens, nobody wants to be ostracized from the group by saying that a deeply-held idea is wrong. Science and "peer review" are not immune to this behavior, unfortunately. In the end, finding truth is our own responsibility and we can't depend on others to hand it to us. Skepticism is key, along with curiosity and the willingness to critically evaluate and consider ideas both new and old.
