I wouldn't be posting here if I didn't have the app, now would I!

 

If it played M4A files, then I wouldn't get the following error:

Here's the file in Windows Explorer:

So, if it played M4A files, then the above error wouldn't be happening!

 

That was obviously a stupid question of mine. MusiX plays m4a/aac. I'm guessing it's not AAC format contained in those m4a files OR they are AAC files but the musiX decoder doesn't support it. Do you have more info about how these file were encoded?

 

Also, there should be more information about why they cannot be played in the logfile. If you could send me that, it might be helpful. The logfile is at this location: C:\Users\<your_user_name>\AppData\Local\musiX\Log

This is a guy making an application in his spare time, he has been incredible with responding to people and their issues. 

No you got it all wrong.

 

People should should stop bothering raphael with issues so he can use his time to finish the new build and address issues later :laugh:

 

 

Speaking seriously, Raphael, your app seems to be a hit, wouldn't letting someone in to help you with issues be helpful in terms of your time management? 2 cents ( I know nothing of coding so excuse me if this comment is way off :laugh: )

I'm not sure if I'm ready to let someone in on this project. I might open source it some time in the future, but not sure about it yet.

Is it me, or does the main screen of this player look a lot like musiX? The "Thanks" section is an almost copy paste of musiX's. That can't be coincidence. Good thing is, mine looks better :rofl:

      One reason it might be running hotter is dust build up within the cooling or perhaps the paste has dried out. You could always try repasting your old GPU and cleaning the cooler. Your experience in Linux will be much better with an AMD GPU; the performance in gaming is much closer to Windows than nVidia would be. I personally think on Windows, AMD drivers are junk.

      I reviewed it back in March, but I didn't have a 5070 at the time https://www.neowin.net/reviews/amd-rx-9070-review-vs-rtx-5070-4070-and-rx-9070-xt-7800-xt--just-good-enough/ When I reviewed the 9070 I did have a 5070 to compare it against, so the scores are there for the 9070 XT. it outperforms the 5070 in raster, and is barely neck and neck in Ray Tracing. So it's better than a 5070 in everything but Ray Tracing where it is neck and neck, or just under. To be honest, the uplift from 3080 when it was new to the 9070 XT is not as great a step up. If you can find a used 4080 Super for around the same money, you would probably be better off, but if you only want to buy new then the 16GB 9070 XT is the best value for money in its category.

      AMD is supported out of the box in linux because of their open source driver. Nvidia does not. All my systems are amd and all of them work nicely on linux arch without doing anything.

      Never had a problem with TPM and started using that many years ago in Win10. Through several motherboards and OS versions, it just does what it does without complaint. My games library doesn't even know it's there. Secure boot does a lot more than support anti-cheat, as it came along long before anti-cheat software. I've used it religiously since before I started using TPM, and I always liked it for being able to nullify virus contagions that try their best to come in underneath the firmware during boot, so that the OS doesn't see them, etc. That is its purpose, imo. I'll never understand why people who elect to use another OS feel compelled to run down Windows... I guess they need to do that to feel secure about their choices? I run Windows because it supports all the software (including games) natively that I want to buy, and I've never had to run down another OS to make me feel better about it. (Although it's certainly possible to do that, of course...) Win10 is on a ventilator atm, and Win11 is very close to being free, and I finally got to stop running StartAllBack as I moved to the Experimental/Dev channel and my 26300.8553 build supports the moveable taskbar and it's running fine at the top of the screen! Finally, my last major dislike of Win11 is being rectified! So, I'm not at all surprised to see Win11's share of the Steam survey hitting 70%.
