Installing Visual Studio .NET 2003

When I first tried to install it, it displayed a list of programs that should be uninstalled first:

• Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003
  
• MSDN Library for Visual Studio .NET 2003
  
• .NET Framework 1.1
  
• .NET Framework 1.1 Language Packs
  
• .NET Framework SDK 1.1
  
• Visual J# .NET Redistributable Package 1.1
  
• Visual J# Redistributable Package 1.1 Language Packs
  
• Smart Device Extensions, beta 1
  
• Visual Studio .NET 2002, beta 2 or later
  
• Visual Studio .NET, beta 1
  
• Visual Studio 7.0 PDC Technology Preview
  
• Visual Studio Analyzer 6.0
  

I checked and I only had .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 1.1 Language Packs from the above list.

I uninstalled them, rebooted and still the installation program wont let me advance...

Is there something I can do? Have I missed anything? Do you know a way to "override" that check and still go on with the instalation?

there is no way to "override" it. Visual Studio .NET 2003 is a VERY complex application and because of this it moans about loads :)

Chances are you will have to reformat, update windows with all the updates, then install VS.NET.

Why not just call Microsoft and ask for support? You pay so much for VS.NET you should use the support haha

1. What version of Windows are you installing this on?

2. Did you install IIS?

3. Did you install the Web update components?

1. Windows XP Professional, SP1 with every update BUT the .NET Framework
   
2. Yep. IIS v5.0
   
3. I don't know what you mean... I went to Windows Update and installed EVERYTHING... as I said in 1, BUT .NET Framework...
