Starting Saturday (March 1st) Sid Meier?s Civilization Revolution (Normally US $29.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through March 15th .

Then on March 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download Dungeon Defenders (Normally US $14.99) for free.

The ?Games With Gold? program gives Xbox LIVE Gold Members 2 free games to keep each month. A new title will be available the 1st and 16th of each month.

Boom, two more free games fellas. Grab'em. I already have DD, but I will get Civilization for sure.

Not the greatest combo so far, but I've been wanting to buy Civ Rev for years now ever since I tried the demo. So this will be a nice one for me. Also, DD is just awesome. I doubt it's gotten the post launch DLC support the PC version has had, but it's still a fun romp.

Meh.  Not likely to pick either of them up.  Which is fine, as I still need to finish up Bioshock Infinite before Titanfall hits.  And I also just bought THPS HD because they were selling it for $5 last week so I've got that as well on top of a backlog of games I picked up last year when they were giving better ones away for free.

I really like Dungeon Defenders, but I played it 3 years ago on PC. Looking forward to the sequel now.

Civ Rev isn't a patch on the PC series obviously but at least I don't own something on GwG for once

They need to get the X1 program started ASAP.

Civ Rev is an excellent and addictive game. Of course not on par with PS+ but not bad. What about X1 though? As DM noted this needs to happen. Well, right after X1 is properly integrated into XBL...ridiculous you can't even see achievements on Xbox.com! How could they not think of this?

MS should be looking at giving away higher quality games that have DLC so there is some chance for them to make $.

Yeah, see Don't Starve on PSN. Give it away, release new DLC within months and have a decent sized install base to buy it.

If MS are going to struggle to get more recent games they should really just adopt Sony's approach of allowing you to play as long as you are subbed. Sure there is something warm and fuzzy feeling about downloading and owning with no strings attached, but if it's repeatedly games most people have already played you aren't going to get much use out of downloading it just because. With a minimum sub being 1 month, most people can complete and even 100% a game in that time.

Dungeon Defenders is a good game, but I'm pretty sure they started skimping on the console support and most of the patches/new features went PC only?

Yeah the console version didn't get nearly as much DLC as PC, a lot of which was free during holidays. The console's received the "most important" DLC which was a season pass called 'Quest for the Lost Eternia Shards' though. The other stuff is mostly costumes and maps.

I think we'll get news on it at E3, or around there, it'd be a good place to start it IMO.

Doesn't really qualify as "fairly soon" when he said that over a month ago though :P

I'd have guessed PAX or something but I doubt it. It'll probably just be announced on some arbitrary date.

Maybe, unless they want to tie the start of that to some new features?  Could kick off with the next update?

Why download them if you dont want them?

Honestly, downloading things you are not happy about just gives MS the wrong impression.

Agree. When i don't want the free games i don't download them. No point wasting bandwidth for something i don't want to play. With youtube these days it's easy to know if you want a game. I really love the let's play [insert game title here] videos. Unlike reviews they give you a very good feeling about if you will like or not a game.

Not a bad combo. I'll definately grab both of them. Better than last month imo.

Yeah sound like a good strategy ;)

I think MS does fairly well with the big titles. But they could do a lot better with the free indie games. So far i think i downloaded only 2 of the free indie games they gave away for free. All the others looked :| at best. Some titles like Braid or Spelunky would be nice.

At leats this month Dungeon Defender looks like a playable game.
