Mouse scroll not working right

I have a generic gaming mouse (JITE Brand), which seems to have a schitozphrenic (as best as I can explan it), mouse scroll problem. 

 

In any app that allows for scrolling, if I scroll down, it will reverse the scroll randomly and same if I scroll up. 

 

I have switched USB ports, made sure the drivers are current etc...  Any ideas as to what it may be? (I know it is a cheap mouse).

Can you open it up for cleaning ?

 

It may just be worn out, and needs replaced.

Less than two months old for the mouse.  And opening up is not an option at this point.

Yeah, it sounds like it is physically broken.

I suspect a sensor issue with this. 

 

I got it on eBay and the seller seems to have a 60 day warranty on it so I just contacted them to see if I can exchange it.

I would pull the mouse apart and blow compressed air around the scroll sensor area.

 

Unfortunately, many new mice are non user-serviceable (no screws, clipped together) making them very difficult to get apart without the right tools.

Will be my last resort if I can't get a replacement from the seller. :)
