0 Skiver Veteran Posted March 6, 2014 Veteran Share Posted March 6, 2014 I would probably just give windows Movie Maker a go, its pretty simple and should be able to do what you need. If you want something a little more complex then lightworks is pretty good but isn't as easy to get hold of quickly. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/get-movie-maker-download

0 (Account no longer active)
I don't think it's part of Windows any longer, however you can download it (free of charge) at the Microsoft website here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/movie-maker Edit: it seems like the download button on the page actually downloads the Windows Essentials 2012 installer - you should be given the choice of which apps to install when you run it. I don't think a standalone installer exists anymore. Edit 2: standalone/offline installer is available on this page: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-live/essentials-install-offline-faq

0 (Account no longer active)
where do you see standalone installer ? I find windows essential 2012 only ....not movie maker. Can you please post direct link It is part of the Windows Essentials 2012 "group". When you run the installer, it should ask you which apps/features to install. 0 Deep_Level_Shark
Try this This is still difficult....it seems you are deleting from the beginning. What I want is .... mark A and mark B in main movie..and then press Delete - kind of thing. this will delete part of the movie scenes from A to B from the main movie. so in your main movie you now won't have A to B scenes. Need a very simple tool for this . or tell me a simple workaround . thanks

Such sad times we live in.This does seem to be a simple request, I'm not sure where the difficulty lies. :/ I just went to google and typed in "delete part of video clip" and the first result is this Youtube video: I even remember doing this myself minus the tutorials in Windows Movie Maker when I was younger. What exactly are you getting stuck with?

0 Nick H. Supervisor Posted March 6, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted March 6, 2014 in my windows movie maker there is no timeline. where do you get this timeline ? I see you are dropping the video into timeline.Again, a quick Google tells me that Microsoft removed the timeline view in Windows Movie Maker and replaced it with a storyboard/filmstrip view. (Source.) I don't mind answering questions, but it's a bit frustrating that all I'm doing is going to Google, typing in your question for you and giving you Google's answer. There should also be a help section in Windows Movie Maker that would be able to help you find your way around the software. If memory serves it's not an overly complex application, I think I was about 11 when I first started playing around with it. If I could figure it out at the age of 11 then I'm sure you would have no problem yourself if you think it through. (Y)
