no one knows, it's  teaser and a new story not based on any EU novels. you'll know in a year :)

they do show that storm troopers are still around so the only thing we know is that the empire or remnants of it are still around and a new sith that may or may not be aligned with them,

Okay, I didnt know this wasn't gonna be based on any of the books.

Not sure why you were expecting more, the movie comes out over a year from now. I'm actually surprised they showed as much as they did (e.g. the lightsaber).

Why? I dunno, maybe cos it's a teaser? I wanted something to whet my appetite... this left me feeling underwhelmed and uninterested

They've been teasing a lot in the trailer. More than enough to wet my appetite.

I'll be watching the film as soon as it's in the cinema. Again, they can't bugger it up badly enough to be worse than the prequels..

I thought all Stormtroopers were clones of Fett but Googling gives this so I guess it gives a clue as to the era of the new film

By the time the Galactic Civil War began in earnest, Jango Fett's clones were heavily supplanted by clones based on a variety of templates around 9 BBY,[13] followed shortly after by enlisted Humans.[19] Thus, the Fett clones were ironically reduced to a minority status after years of virtually filling the stormtrooper ranks in its entirety. According to a stormtrooper's entry log in the 501st Journal, none of the Fett clones were ever truly able to come to terms with serving alongside recruits and different clones, all of whom were disdainfully dubbed as the "new guys

"For the record, that is Andy Serkis you hear in the trailer. I was able to verify this, although I was not able to uncover any further information about the role he plays. Here's what I do know, though. He's playing a pivotal role in the film, although he will not have a lot of screen time." - Drew McWeeny

Awww I'll have to wait until Mid 2016 for it :(

Now that I have a projector I can't justify going to movies in the theater anymore!

Not sure if serious or what... I'd put off eating a meal to spend it on a ticket for the movie.

Two things:

Movies are roughly 30 years after Jedi.

As far as googling/wiki for anything Star Wars now - the only things that are now canon are the original 6 films, the Clone Wars animated series, and anything published after April 25th, 2014. Everything else is called 'legends' and doesn't have to be adhered to.

I'm not sure, but I believe some of the games are canon?

I thought this was a joke at first. When the black guy popped up at the beginning of the trailer, it seemed comical with the music. I thought it was going to be a trailer for a Space Balls sequel.

yeah, first though, WTF?  how is this relevant to build up my enthusiasm?

    • OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT memory by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT's memory, making the system more capable, current, and scalable across long-term use. Memory allows ChatGPT to remember useful details about users, including their preferences, projects, and constraints. Instead of starting every conversation from scratch, ChatGPT can use this context to provide more relevant responses in future chats. OpenAI first launched saved memories in February 2024. That feature allowed users to explicitly ask ChatGPT to save information into its memory, such as travel plans or writing preferences. However, this system had limits because it depended heavily on users giving clear instructions to remember something. Additionally, saved memories could become stale over time. In April 2025, OpenAI expanded memory by allowing ChatGPT to reference past chat context outside the saved memories list. This was powered by a background process called “dreaming,” which automatically curates memories from chat history. This made ChatGPT better at learning from natural conversation without requiring users to manually save every detail. Today, OpenAI announced a more capable and compute-efficient memory architecture built on top of dreaming. This new system improves ChatGPT’s ability to carry forward useful context, follow user preferences, and remain accurate as time passes. According to OpenAI’s internal evaluations, the new system improves factual recall from 67.9% in 2025 to 82.8% in 2026. Preference adherence improves from 55.3% to 71.3%, while accuracy over time improves from 52.2% to 75.1%. The best part of this new system is a new memory summary page where users can review ChatGPT's memories. Users can even update details, correct information, or give instructions on what topics ChatGPT should bring up and when. This new, improved memory system is available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users in the US starting today. It will roll out to more countries, as well as Free and Go users, in the coming weeks.
    • I work for a video production company in Australia. The camera operators shoot footage and then pass the SD card over to the editors. Much easier than handing over the entire camera. Plus, on a busy day you can hand off the SD card and then pop another in for the next shoot. Or, you might have used multiple SD cards because you need the extra space for a long shoot. I also use USB cables and wifi for transferring footage, but in many cases an SD card reader is the easiest method.
