Hi, I am using creative SBLive Value. I just done an upgrade frm Win98 to WinXP. All my devices are detected in the system properties. However when i try to play mp3/audio cds, i could not hear a sound. It seems like the speaker icon has it muting on and off every second. Anyone who got their SBLive value to work?

Pls help me, thanks in advance.

I done a clean install and i still have the same error message as above: "Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Live! card on your system. Pls ensure that your Sound Blaster Live! hardware is properly installed before running the setup program. Setup will now exit "

Still no sound in XP.....

My speaker icon at the taskbar is still blinking and off the mute sign.

SBLive drivers come with XP. You should not have to download any drivers from SBLive.com. The liveware does not work yet due to that winXP isn't really released to the public so that is right that liveware will not think you have a SBLive card installed. If you need to change volume and what inputs are on and off just go to control panel and find the sounds and audio devices and change your stuff there under advance.

But remember, drivers for win2k are not for XP and until a liveware is released for XP i wouldn't try downloading and installing one for a different platform

I did it yesterday and it work very well for me, now I have AudioHQ for my SBLive!Value, sweet. Maybe some of you will find it helpfull. I left the Microsoft drivers that came with WinXP alone and did as follow:

" WindowsXP How to add in AudioHQ in to WindowsXP.

1: Download the SBLive! 5.1 Series LW Package for Win2k it should be

Date: 010417 17,648,261 bytes

Sound Blaster Live! 5.1SBL5-WEB-W1-US

Save any were you like, run SBL51_W2k.exe it will unpack it self in same folder

move thoses file in to a new folder.

2: Open notepad add the line "sbl51 /w" without quotes save as run.bat in same folder where you put the unpack the drivers & applications at.

A big thank gose to Christopher Hill for the command line switch.

3: Dbl click on run.bat click next then stop rigth there useing the windows key

on key board with the Windows Explorer all ready open you need to go to

?:Documents and Settings(Computer Name)Local SettingsTemp folder copy the

SBL51 folder to c: then exit the installer you need clear out your temp folder

and any sub folder in there then empty Recycle Bin.

4: Go to ?:SBL51AudioEnglishSetup folder then dbl click on

AUDIO.INI scoll down in tell you see the line "WinDrv = 1" change it to

"WinDrv = 0" close notepad and save it.

I do not have any sound in XP, that is even worse. I think i have ACPI enabled. What should i do next? Could be due to IRQ sharing. I can't change my irq of my sound card as the menu/option to change it seems to be grayed out. Do i set my irq for the device manually in the Bios? Please advice. Thank u.

you need to change the Hardware Abstraction Layer of the OS.

You can do this by changing the computer type to "Standard PC" instead of ACPI.

once you do this XP will redetect all your devices and assign them all individual IRQs wherever possible :ninja:

Good luck dude :)
