I don't think its a good idea, that the two of them work together, first WindowsX seems petty and childlike, second I don't think he has any ability with graphics. Allow me to elaborate...

1. All the resources and graphics are from longhorn, he didn't make sh!t all.

2. The graphics he did come up with for the caption buttons in the corner look like sh!t, ergo the graphic ability is not there.

Sure you guys are thinking, but what about the aero theme it looks so good...i love you windowsx....yeah i'm sure that thought has crossed some of your minds...

but once again, the startmenu is the only thing about that theme that looks good, and it was made by OldeCrowe, whose work I have respect for...

So the idea that the two of them work together, when one of them can clearly come up with the better end product when given the same resources, is ludicrous.

Yeah this post isn't very friendly, but whatever, I'm tired of all the whining and b!tching, so get over your own damn egos, and someone get windowsx a tissue....

I'm done...

ok I really do try to stay out of these hot topics but :p

ANDYLOGO

I now that i have had a chance to review my visual style and WindowsX's and yours side by side in stylebuilder,

Let me adress Miq's comments ..

It doesnt matter where the images came from originally the fact remains WindowsX and my self took the time independantly to port them one image at a time into useable styles for windowsXP

WindowsX and myself developed the keynote startmenu's and the images Independantly, We each took the time to create our own images (WindowsX may be useing resized versions of my logoff/turnoff buttons, and we did collaberate on getting the buttons offset correctly however he has permission to use the images in any case).

WindowsX's startmenu is actually a little cleaner than mine since i havent worked on it since my initial release and it was just a proof of concept release.

ANDYLOGO

Your startmenu is a rip directly from WindowsX's style

its been nicely recolored but the images and even the startmenu geometry are straight from his (not mine)

The rest of the style is nicely modded far enough away from WindowsX's work that im not even going to look at it cuz its visably different and its Great work.

You are developing great themeing skills but your learning the Golden Rule the hard way.

ASK PERMISSION FIRST!

Style builders are almost always reasonable people and are flattered to see there work used and improved upon if you just ask first.

WindowsX probably wouldnt be so upset except that this is apparenty the second time youve modded his work and rereleased it.

Lastly its apparent in this topic that many of you are taking advantage of WindowX's poor english skills to dismiss and ignore his claims, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

ANDYLOGO

I would suggest that a very humble PM to WindowsX is in order it should include an apology and request to use the startmenu (its never too late to ask)

Once again to address this accusation of ripping his work i am going to state my innocence and proof one more time. I have looked over his startpanel in stylebuilder and although it is Verry similar to mine there are differences:

1) My startuserpanel has only half of the user icon off of the panel while his entire icon is off of the panel.

2) Second i looked at his sizing margins, content margins, default pane size and they are slightly different and slightly similar because i designed my startpanel to fit with the default size Windows XP uses(380px wide).

3) And lastly, i have never denied looking how the both of you did the startpanel by decompiling your work in stylebuilder i believe i have already stated that in another post, and its called reverse engineering. I simply reviewed how you managed to make the panel, and made one of my own which i tried to improve.

Basically im sick of people accusing me of ripping work, because i have spent many hours making these themes. So it is really up to everyone to decide if they want to believe me or not, because i don't give a SH*T. I will still make these themes, take comments and feedback, and improve them. This is the last time i will comment on these allegations.

Cheers

I'm done...

1. Get over yourself, how about YOU go make a theme like this (either ANDYLOGO or Windows-X), until then you are talking out of your F UCKING A SS

2. Take a good look in the mirror, and then call yourself a loser for wanting to rant

3. "I'm done..."

I don't know what he've said yesterday to OldeCrow for permission or declaration (which I was recommended him to do) I think it won't be so hard to say I would like to ask you permission even you use us work or not. But you told us yourself that you never saw my work at all but how could you get myshellstyle? Isn't it too strange? I think ppl can prove it themself for fact and it's nothing to force you do if you want to hold it like this. Trust me that won't do any good and hurry to do something right before he become impatient.

By the way, his own mod quite nice but it similiar to Silver Slate than Aero (With strongly gradient) because real Aero has almost plain white background (See keynote video to make sure).

@Windows X: You aren't flaming.

@ANDYLOGO: What would be cool is your own twist on an Aero concept, kind of like Windows X's Longhorn Aero theme (before the Keynote substyle was added), except your own concept and ideas. That would be cool. Just have lots of color variation (like Slate) and make it usable - Windows X's version was nice but it was one of those themes where you put it on, gaze at it, comment on how pretty it is, then switch back to Watercolor or Slate or whatever your favorite theme is. :D

because i have spent many hours making these themes.

I and OldeCrow spent many days to finalize the first release of screenshot, man. And I believe his word is true cuz I've seen as he found like I PM you before. I don't want that theme will be removed from site for RIP word that's why I asked you for the right thing.

an idea...why not make a white slate :D that would be cool ...i like keynote but i dont like when i open the start menu and my name and picture arent there or the pic is there and totally offsets the start menu

Yeah! Or maybe Windows X's Slate (w/permission from Windows X) except with just a white taskbar. That would be cool!

AeroPDC v3 beta now released.

This version offers two caption button options:

1) Aero Style (all three taskbars) (Keep in mind these buttons are still being worked on)

2) Original Style (all three taskbars)

    • This is about the already discredited 2025 announcement. Not the current one, which I've heard nothing negative about in the academic literature.
