Looks like a lot of fun to me.  Can't wait to see what's bound to come out of E3 about it.

Looks pretty cool actually, but I want to see more. I like that they are planning on a varied group of enemies, weapons and abilities. Hopefully that means it stays fresh throughout the game.

This was a game I was pretty unsure about, so its great to see it in action.

I've been looking forward to this game, but I have to admit that I'm concerned that this game will be boring.

Visually, it looks fun, but I'm concerned about the game play. It has been said that grinding isn't that much of a challenge. It could turn into a game where I'm constantly bouncing up and down while spamming my aim assisted crazy weapon. I'm hoping there's some sort of challenge and it doesn't get repetitive.

Watch the Videogamer video on it - they say exactly that. It's boring beyond belief.

I am for the first time in a long time considering cancelling my preorder.

Now for the record, I have had some concerns for quite some time now, and I just watched that videogamer review, and although it is only 2 guys opinions, so I take it as such, they do unfortunately mention a few of the things that I had concerns over.

I really started having major concerns once I saw the limited edition bundle being released in the UK. Here it is...

As ridiculous as this sounds, it is that damn hoodie that really made me worry about things.

See, I understand that since video games are an extremely big business, especially when we are talking about a 1st party MS exclusive, that mutiple people in both Insomniac and MS had to approve that Hoodie. The marketing teams. The brand teams. The art directors. Multiple teams and multiple people had to approve that hoodie.

Now that hoodie to me screams younger kids and not very mature whatsoever.

Clearly I have known from the beginning this game was not going to be a mature one. And that it was also going to be humorous, however that hoodie immediately said to me it is not going to be humor I am going to appreciate, and in fact that I very well may find annoying. The videogamer video said more than once how they could not help but feel this game was made for "hipsters," and yeah, I am not a hipster. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

I just fear the game is going to not be deep enough for me. And trust me, since I play video games I know that most no video games are ever very deep, but this one is just coming off to me like the target demographic is 16-25.

I also do not have a lot of time to play much of anything these days. I already have a backlog of games that is getting quite large. So yeah, where I was initially looking forward to the game because Insomniac was behind it and it was a game I could play on my One, my initial interest has grown to huge concern, and as silly as it may sound it was the damn hoodie that pretty much sealed the deal for me. That hoodie is clearly targeted at a different demographic other than myself. And although I am sure the same can be said for a lot of video games, they do not go out of their way to make this clear. I feel like this game does.

I'd really rather not base things on one, or even a handful of reviews, things like humor are as subjective as you can get.  And if something is dull or fun depends, they can call it dull but if I haven't played it myself then how can I say it's dull to me?   The only thing I look for out of a review, a video one at that, which is what I look for, is a sense of the gameplay, to see if it's the type of gameplay I'd like, nothing more.   If I like the gameplay type then I'll give the game a try at some point, regardless of whatever the final opinion of whoever made the video is.

I've beaten the game. I don't see anything hipster about it at all. In fact, at one point, I'm pretty sure it made fun of hipsters in the game. Whether you find the humor funny is obviously subjective, however. Again, a good comparison is Deadpool. The comedy is like a game version of Deadpool in nearly every regard.

(He says as if any of us have any frame of reference ;) )

I just love open world games, Crackdown and Just Cause 2 are still my overall favorites but Sleeping Dogs and Watch Dogs were awesome, and the more the merrier (though I've kinda stopped caring about Asssassins Creed, I'll get back to it eventually.)

What frame of reference are you looking for? I thought Deadpool was a good example. In other words, the humor is stuff such as breaking the fourth wall, pop culture references (from Mary Poppins to "Breaking Bad"), meta humor, etc.

    • Still hate Windows 11, I stuck it on my gaming machine again just for a nose to see what they had done, still as bad. Will restore Windows 10 back on it, suit MS anyway, they don't want me to run Windows 11 on it.
    • Ms did go with the you must sign into an account thing with Windows 8 for a while. The same sort of thing they are doing with Windows now and the MS account.
    • Hello, What sort of Microsoft Authenticator account login approval requests are you getting?  It is a generic authentication app and can be used with all sorts of services (Microsoft Account, Google Account, websites and services that support multi-factor authentication, etc.). Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Windows 8? Nah. I found Window 8 worked well, get a third party start menu to get rid of the start screen, I used Start is back and windows 8 was pretty good. I used it even when Windows 10 came out as I found Windows 10 was iffy on my machine at the time was AMD FX Bulldozer based. It was only when I updated the innards to Ryzen that I had no choice but to go to Windows 10 as MS made it difficult to stay with Windows 8. ME, yes, that was not great, I liked the look of it, but it was not stable, shame really because Windows 98SE was the best of the dos based Windows.
