iPod and snow...

Recommended Posts

I'm going skiing over new year, and want to take my 30gb iPod with me, but obviously don't want it to get damaged by cold/snow/falling over...any suggestions on how to protect it or cases that i could get...i'm in the UK, but would buy from abroad if that was the only option

Didn't Burton Snowboards and Apple co-design an iPod jacket?

Burton also made a backpack with a music control built into the strap, so your iPod can stay nice and dry inside!

I like the description:

'Whether you?re running to catch a flight, riding the subway or lugging your **** into the lodge, the Amp Pack makes it super simple to flip through your downloaded music library.'

They made tons of other stuff too. Just Google 'burton ipod'.

Thoose are quite expensive and probably not what you are looking for, but I thought I would share them anyway. If you would just like a case that is protective and/or waterproof, head over to iPod lounge. The forums have topic after topic about cases under Forums>Gear>Cases. They also have a very extensive review section with many cases. You will find everything you are looking for there.

i personally woundnt take it on the slopes(i have a 10g 3rdgen) id hate to see you fall and smash your hardrive or get it wet due to condensation...remeber. the ipod gets hot, and your going to be in a cool wet enviorment...not a good combo for some with buttons

Takes the hit.

iPod Armor is ideal for skiers, snowboarders, or anyone worried about falling on their iPod during sports. Unlike other cases, iPod Armor's hard outer shell does not actually touch your iPod (it is held suspended, floating between layers of foam) so the force of a fall goes into the outer shell of the case, rather than into your iPod.
