Hi

i know with the actual a screensaver is non sense

but could be pleasant

may i know which is your favorite screensaver for windows?

thanks

I love all of the classic Windows screensavers (Flying Through Space, Flying Windows, 3D Pipes, etc) but 3D Maze is one of my favorites. It was highly customizable (one could change the patterns of the walls, floor, and ceiling, if preferred; or include a map on the screen) and quite pleasant to watch with its interesting visuals (the maze floor would occasionally become the ceiling and vice-versa, a rat would roam the maze, etc.)

One of my favorite screensavers in more modern versions of Windows is the Aurora screensaver in Windows Vista.

Another screensaver that comes to mind is the Windows Energy screensaver in Windows Vista. If your hardware was powerful enough to run it, it would show you stunning, color-changing auroras.

Two of my favorite screen savers are now lost in history.

One was an After Dark Looney Tunes Screen Saver.

The second was a 3D landscape city builder. I thought it was called Landscapes.

Can't find even a hint of it anymore. :(

Oh yeah, the classics too.

Personally,

I have never used a screensaver. Always thought they were dumber than heck!

Why would I want to leave my computer on and wasting energy, just to watch some stupid pipe drawing lines on it, or anything similar?

I put my computers to sleep immediately after done using them unless I don't plan on getting back on it, in which case I then turn it completely off. Always have, always will.

Sure,

They're all pretty cool, but still dumb!

Bear in mind that screensavers were designed to prevent screen burn-in when CRT monitors were commonplace; this was a time when not all operating systems had a "sleep" option. Nowadays they serve no purpose unless you're the proud owner of a CRT monitor . . .

I used to love the Microsoft Plus! screensavers and of course After Dark. There was also one called LCARS I used for a while, it looked like a Star Trek TNG display. To be honest though I don't believe I have used a screensaver in this century, LCDs do not need them and I just turn my monitor off when I'm away.

I almost forgot HP Mopyfish. I remember thinking that was the coolest thing in the world because you could feed it (and if you didn't it would die).
