Does anyone know where I can purchase 3x cheap monitor stands, or perhaps something I can use as an alternative (doesn't need to specifically be a monitor riser/stand)? I literally need something that can raise my monitors by about 6 inches due to some neck pain I'm having. I'm looking for something like below which was listed on eBay for ?32, which to me seems rather extortionate for a piece of plastic.

Plastic is fine... your monitors aren't that heavy.

If you want cheap, you can build your own monitor stand.  That you can buy materials from the store such as Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.

It is very easy.

It's not the material, just the price. Like I just don't want to pay nearly ?100 just to raise my monitors to a comfortable height. As for building my own, I wouldn't have a clue.  :/

Google it.

Or look up on YouTube... here is one of the videos I pulled it for you:

There are more videos... all you do is type "How to build a monitor stand" in search field on YouTube.

I used to be a house builder many years ago...  and I used to work with EMHE (TV show) a few times.

I went to Ikea for a new bed and found these: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60136623/

I thought for ?3 a piece what a bargain (risers are like what ?30 each?). Was worried they might be flimsy, got them assembled and they're very sturdy and take the weight of the monitors no problem. They look like crap but I don't really care about that, just nice not having neck ache.

just my 2 cents but you'd be better off finding cheap vesa mounts on Amazon.com. They have reasonable 1, 2, and 3 monitor risers. You'll be surprises how economical they are. then you will still have flexibility to adjust them each individually.

Of course you have to have monitors with vesa mounts.

Good for you.

Mine are movies and TV shows that's all.

Altogether (I mean DVD, BR, digital, VHS): around thousand movies

tbh, I could do with deleting a whole bunch of stuff. Loads of crap that I'll never watch again.

Anyways, total thread hijack. Sorry, Broughton.

Actually, for a very cheap/free (temporary) solution, you could do what I am doing at the moment...

House bricks wrapped in cardboard :woot:

Obviously you could wrap more that one brick together, and you could add a plank of wood or two to the mix.

Again, this would just be temporary, if you happen to have the stuff laying around, or know where you can find it.
