(for Comparison A. you can seem my business card for size, or the Red Bottle is 1 liter)

Why multiple monitors and not one at bigger size and 4k? Fits more in one screen and less clutter on desk.

Already had the monitors, i dont think they are going to let me buy a single monitor that costs that much. :P

I prefer more monitors than 1 single large one.

My new office will be at least 2 x 24 and maybe a 30" on the wall behind the 24s for monitoring systems there and that's all that one will do.

Let's just hope I can get the funds approved :D

My workstation is custom-built. Well, I made it.

Windows 8.1 64-bit Enterprise Edition
NZXT Phantom PHAN-001WT Full Tower Case
i5 4670K overlocked
Noctua NH-U14S
Intel HD Graphics 4600
12GB of RAM (could not fit the 4th module under the CPU cooler, derp)
256GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD
1TB HDD
GTX 970
GTX 750 Ti 2GB
GTX 550 Ti (yeah my work implies graphics cards)
3 24" 1080p Dell monitors of some sort
CM Storm Quickfire Rapid with Cherry Brown switches

Lots of jealous people around the office. "How come your stuff starts that fast? Oh yeah you're using that computer..."

Hello Geoffrey,

I just spent the whole day searching internet and calling and cahtting with DELL support. NO ONE can answer my questions and I'm getting really frustrated. I was hoping if I find a real user of this machine, I might get better luck finding out info I need.

First of all, very nice setup you have there, like it.

So here is the question. This machine, M4800 has a manual that shows mSATA  (mini Sata port for optional HD) interface to be SATA 2. But, some people from Dell are telling me it's SATA 3, others say it is SATA 2. I tried to get as high as their PRO tech support, no one will confirm that for me.

Would you be able to run a speed test on a disk in mSATA port and report the results? That is, if you have a disk in that port. If not, I guess I'm out of luck again. It just doesn't make sense to me that DELL would offer RAID 1 or 0 on combined mSATA and SATA and then make them two different interfaces, that will automatically downgrade the speed of raid to the slower SATA 2 speeds. Besides, who makes SATA 2 disks these days. And, I can't imagine a laptop that can cost up to $4k to have SATA 2 on mSATA port. Is Dell really doing that?

Anyway, none of these questions were really answered by dell tech support, so the only way to find out is to have a real user test the speed.

Enjoy your new laptop!

Thank you in advance,

Tom

An autonomous AI system built by researchers at Amazon's A-EVO-Lab completed a full post-training run on a 30 billion parameter NVIDIA Nemotron model — with no human in the loop, across four rounds running over multiple weeks — and then did something its designers had not planned for: it detected that its own internal evaluation metric had become misleading and redesigned the search strategy it was using to improve itself. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319123/20260626/nvidia-ai-trained-itself-30b-model-corrected-its-own-broken-metric-mid-run.htm

    • If Ford would stop hiring SUITS to run the company, and put CAR GUYS back in charge perhaps they could do better. Heck, the only CAR they produce today is the Mustang. Hey Ford! Not everyone needs/wants an overpriced SUV or pickup truck that is so tall you have to have a step ladder to get in and out of it.

Before, they worshiped at his feet, including a lot of so called hollywood types. Now, because he fell off the plantation truck, they toss him under the bus.
