Australian Cricketer Phillip Hughes has passed away age 25.

Phillip Hughes has passed away today, age 25, after getting hit in the head playing cricket on Tuesday in Sydney.

 

My thoughts are with his family and the cricketing community.

 

It's an emotional time for a lot of cricket fans around the world.

Yep, R.I.P. Perhaps naively, i was hoping and thinking he was going to pull through.

 

Not sure what's going to happen to the test match next week.

Not a cricket fan so don't know much about him but I was shocked when I heard this on the news today.

 

Thoughts go out to his family and friends and the bowler who I understand is now having counseling.

I don't follow cricket at all, but I do listen / follow the news closely and this has been widely reported here in the UK. It's shocking really, and it's just baffling how what looked like such a minor incident could have ended up this way. But it's such a freak accident.. all these years of cricket, and the guy wearing the correct safety equipment too. It's terrible.

I'm still reeling from it, I've only gotten back into cricket in the past year or two after falling out of love with it for half a dozen years.  It just plain sucks.  Especially since he is younger than me.
