Kewl! Is this the CD Builder I read about? (below) I have been looking for a way to install WinXP unattended with my own CD-Key and custom info (Computer Name / User, Workgroup, etc...) To be able to have AutoPatcher run unattended from the same CD sounds almost too good to be true.

im working on the guide right now...

this will be super easy to install

basically im working off where Jono left off.

to say the least the batch file he wrote is short of amazing!!

when we are done, it will be a single batch file that makes

an unattended install ISO w/ SP1a and autopatcher slipstreamed into it

you will have to configure the autopatcher first and then customize it, set that as a default,

it will then in turn generate a custom dat file that when a batch file during the WinXP install runs

will self install w/ your custom settings w/out you having to do anything!!!

it will be so easy even Mojo the Help Monkey (simpsons reference) could do it!!!

i'm working on an unattended cd right now that installs all my apps and stuff like that. I'm going to us the winnnt.sif file and use the RunOnceEx command to execute programs in this fashion....

runonceex.gif

and also include autopatcher to run at the same time with an unattended setup that is already possible with autopatcher. All this will take place after windows is installed from the cd and after the admin or local user loggs in the first time. How is your way any better or different?

Not 100% sure, but it sounds like his version will install windows xp with sp1a slipstreamed AS WELL as the programs that you choose to install, while yours seems to only install the programs in order after you have already installed XP manually. Perhaps I'm mis-interpreting though...

in writing the guide, i added a link to a the infamous WinXP unattended install guide.

so one can continue from where we left off.

im working on the guide now... once the file is up for download, i'll do a couple

tests on a spare box i have, make sure everything is cool and then i'll post the

guide

post any comments or suggestions!!

BTW, i'll be making an uber DVD, it will have TONS of all my programs and

tweaks all slipstreamed and setup for un-attended installation!

...just have to save up for a DVD burner...

I have updated the main part some what...

... so tired...

after 1/2 gallon of coffee and 1/2 pack of cigarettes later, i need to go to bed!!

I will proactively work on this when i get back from work @ 11PM EST...

im off wednesday all day, so that will be when i do some extensive testing on the

batch files, CD burning and installing on my ShuttleX box.

In the mean time, I would like to have a few (4~5) people PM me

if they are interested in testing out what we have!!

i will definately test it out on my box first to see any potential problems

before i give anything to the testers!! dont want you all to waste time on my

baffoonary!! and after all that i will post the final guide

I like the way this looks. Keep me up-to-date on how it turns out, and if you need beta testers, let me know!

ok i am also planning the following features, as my existing tool would allow all of above to be done now, there will be no bittorrent the file is gonna be hosted on a http server as many people have probs with bit torrent ie me lol,

Version 2 is gonna allow the user to automatically burn there image using a few tools i got around and all are freeware or gnu, the autopatcher is not only thing which can be slipstreamed and i will be make a Module System which allows you to automatically install your favorite applications automatically as long as you have enough free space on cd.

also slipstreaming the service pack will be made optional since many people already have a pre slipstreamed cd, i am looking at a time frame of 2-3 days to get the first release of this tool out, and with the help of shifty i feel we can achieve more.

all who have PMed me to test will have a PM to contact me ASAP.

i need some feedback from some peeps who know a lot about updating CDRWs and

multi session CDRWing...

I'll help ya soon as I'm done gettin' the links out, etc. (Y)

downloading now. give me a couple of hours to test throughly i will be sending out the beta testing kits to all

who contacted me via AIM. there is still time to PM me to be a beta tester!! more testers the, better and faster i can get a solid product out.

Update

this far i have successfully finished most of the code...

so far this is what it does and doesnt do:

copies CD over

slipstreams sp1a

slipstreams AP_December

configures un-attended install file for WinXP isntallation

doesnt install XP unattended right...

just have to edit the batch file...

i should have a "working" batch file by later tonight

for all the testers involved!!

when i mean later tonight... i mean like 1~2AM EST!!

    • Mafia: The Old Country expansion Man of Honor announced, brings back Salieri from original by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe During Summer Game Fest, 2K and Hanger 13 brought out a new Mafia: The Old Country trailer, revealing the game's first expansion. Named Man of Honor, this is slated to add two new chapters to the Enzo storyline that the game follows. There is an iconic character returning to the series with this expansion, with players set to run into Ennio Salieri, the future Don of the Salieri crime family. Fans of the original Mafia, or its Definitive Edition remake, may remember that name as one of the biggest characters in the storyline. This expansion is set prior to his rise to being the kingpin in the City of Lost Heaven. "Set in Sicily during the winter of 1905, Enzo Favara has proven himself a reliable soldier of the Torrisi crime family in the months since his initiation," says the studio about the new chapters. "Now, the Don entrusts him and Cesare with a delicate assignment of assisting Ennio Salieri, a man of honor recently released from prison and intent on reclaiming what is his." Working at Salieri's side, players will be heading into fresh environments as they return to the role of Enzo as a high-ranking soldato. The studio also promises brand-new weapons, fresh vehicles, and charms to collect in this expansion. Moreover, the expansion will add new content to the updated Free Ride mode. Alongside new collectibles and locations, this will add more challenges to beat alongside Salieri, which are described as runs that will "test the skills of even the most elite mafiosi." The Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor story expansion will release on August 14, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will cost $10 for owners of the base game to jump into.

    • Telltale returns with The Wolf Among Us, re-revealing the sequel and a new remaster by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Telltale Games, the studio known for its episodic games from the 2000s, had a surprise appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase today. The studio has gone through a collapse, an acquisition, and a revival but has largely gone silent in recent years. Today's sudden announcement was for the popular The Wolf Among Us series, with news about the sequel and a remaster dropping. Set after the events of the 2013-released title, the sequel will bring back Biby Wolf for a new adventure in Fabletown. This town of fairy tale characters is becoming unstable, with Snow White not being able to keep order as before. "When a brutal series of crimes threatens to fracture the fragile balance holding Fabletown together, Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, finds himself drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into the city’s criminal underworld," says the studio. "As suspicion spreads across the city and powerful forces work against him, Bigby must uncover the truth and decide what kind of sheriff - and what kind of wolf - he is willing to become." At the same time, Telltale also announced The Wolf Among Us Remastered, bringing back the classic with a fresh coat of paint. This will include all five episodes from the original game plus over an hour of extra content that will offer behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes. The remaster will also have updated visuals and improved UI elements and accessibility features, alongside upgrades to the animations, audio, and frame rates. Telltale has been working on this project for almost a decade now, but if the new release schedule holds, fans will be able to jump into The Wolf Among Us 2 sometime in 2027. As for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, this is slated to release during this holiday season.
