Found another RPTV on the street corner, fixing it up now :P  This one is a Mitsubishi ws-65513.

I noticed the component inputs said   480i/480p/1080i   but no mention of 720p.  Do you suppose it could support 720p even though it doesn't show it on the input labels?  The other I fixed up said

"480i/480p/720p/1080i"... so... not sure what to make of this...

Ah bummer, at least I can stick it in the guest house. They play nintendo back there :p  No one here (except me) is a big screen enthusiast.  I pick'em up all the time and either give'em away or use'em myself.  I may plan a man cave in the garage pretty soon.  Thanks for the info.

If it supports 480p and 1080i, it should support 720p also. It wouldn't state 480p if it was interlaced-only and 1080i has about the same stress on the unit as 720p (assuming signal refresh rate is the same).

Edit:

Acording to the manual (p87) it won't because there wasn't a standard for 720p within NTSC but some results are showing it working (with a few overscan issues).

Ah most interesting update. OK I'll post a followup a bit later.  I'll have to wait a bit to order some necessary capacitors (a common cause for this model's demise)  spent everything on gifts.. bah.  Can't wait to get it up n running. Thanks again.
