Hi,

I am currently making a list of all the movies I want to buy for starting my blu-ray movie collection and I thought that would be great if you guys could give your input and add or remove movies, by stating why you would add a movie or why you would remove a movie, from the list I'll provide.

As you might see from the list, I like artsy movies and masterpieces, and some other random stuff here and there.

I would like to get to the magic number of 250 movies which will all be bought in a one shot deal (Probably from 3 or 4 online store since prices are pretty random).

So here is my current list (150 movies):

I'll start it off..

Remove - batman and robin and batman forever - reason - they suck

Remove - Indiana jones 4 - reason - as far im concerned it was never even made

Add - princess bride - reason - a classic movie that has it all, romance comedy action ..

Add - american history x - reason - great movie, Edward Norton at his best

Alien - you can't just own Aliens without alien

Planet of the Apes - original version and maybe the recent prequels would be a worthy addition

Rocky 1-4 and First Blood - because duh, 2 classic characters etched in cinema history

Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind - classic Speilberg

Space Balls, Robin Hood Men in Tights, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Airplane, Naked Gun - can't forget the classic spoofs

And replace Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - because Gene Wilder

Oh, awesome! I'm so glad someone is doing this. I've been doing it privately since getting a PS3 - updating my "must have" film collection to Bluray - so it's great to see a thread about it! (Y)

If you can wait until this weekend I'll take a look at my bluray collection and let you know what I have; as far as I'm concerned a majority of them have to be in any person's collection if they like films.

One that I notice you haven't included so far is The Proposition. It's an amazing film, personally. Nick Cave for the music, Guy Pearce, Ray Winstone and Emily Watson for a cast, and the story is great!

Another one for me would probably be The Man from Earth. However, I accept that it is a debatable option - the story fascinates me but there can be ideas that disgruntle some and bore others.

Here's my list.   Ignore any that may already be on yours.  Year of release included to distinguish from any remakes. :)
