May I recommend you watch this old 80's movie called Ghostbusters, it's exactly like this, even the same story, only with better humor, better actors and even better effects.

I've seen it. More times than I can count. I just have a thing for goofy looking movies because I find them oddly funny so yeah. I'm looking forward to this movie.

haha...not surprised.  It can't be that the trailer "lied" during the first 30 seconds (hinting that it was a sequel...but from what I'm understanding it is a hard reboot) ... or that the ending of the trailer with McCarthy getting slapped ... /sigh ... it was just a terrible trailer all around.  Doesn't matter who was playing the roles ... it was just bad.  

 

Anyway, not surprised someone would write a piece blaming sexism for the dislikes.  Of course, I'm sure there are people that wouldn't like it just because of the female leads ... but in this case the movie (based on the trailer) just looks terrible.

 

I really think they missed a chance if they don't tie it into the original Ghostbusters.  It could have simply been one of the girls was the daughter of the original Ghostbusters and work build from there.  But no, let's do a hard reboot and make it terrible at the same time.

 

Kids and your teens will probably enjoy it...and the "Spy" style jokes.

There is goofy comedy movies and then there is this. This is so forced it can't possibly have been written with the same people in mind who grew up and loved the original(s).

yeah, Angry Joe sums it as its a perfect blend of those who do not knew about  the originals (the cast) and Elite (scriptwriter / producer / etc) Hollywood fat ass who want make a quick buck out of the Ghostbuster IP/license that they just acquires.

Just as I thought, this movie looks like garbage. Actually, that's an insult to garbage. The trailer was unfunny, looks like horrible CG (the ghosts in the original two films look way better than this crap), the acting looks subpar and the story rubbish. I'll not only pass on this film in theaters, but it wouldn't even be worth the bandwidth to watch on Netflix.

one one hand, the ghosts look great, BUT that's also the problem.  They look too good, in a very uncharacteristic statement from me, There's too much CGI and the CGI is too good. it doesn't look like ghostbusters. 

 

The old classic animatronic and film trick ghosts had a feel to them that made them seem "realistic" in their way. these just look like really awesome CGI. and not the nice gritty real ghosts of ghostbusters. 

 

on top of that. the trailer gives the whole story away, and the whole story is basically a line by line retelling of the original movie. down to the token black "guy" and "his" role. 

 

They simply replaced the characters with women and placed it 30 years in the future and apparently everyone forgot that ghosts even existed in those 30 years... smh.... why... 

 

I'll watch, it. but it's definitely not going to be a classic. 

 

 

Not really  line for line of the movie at all  if you listen and watch the trialer it is not  .  the plot of this movie based on the trialer is  someone  is  using a machine or something to amplify  paranormal activity   now course in the original yes we had  Dana barrets apartment Evo shandor       that was  a conductive antenna  for  the same thing but   that is about it. it will still be a good flick to me despite  what haters  think about the casting  but  as a Fan of the original films   i am just  excited to see something  Ghostbusters

All the uman ghost in the film including the  first one in the trialer are All done by real actors with LED suits on so the CGI stuff is kept as minimum as  possible in this flick on that area of things  but you know if  they had all this back in the 80s they use the heck out of CGI in some scenes  of the original film

Just because the main antagonist is a human with a machine, doesn't make the story any less identical to the original movie,

Ghostbusters didn't have the budget for that, it was not a high budget movie by any stretch. and just because you can do super crystal clear CGI and layered effects doesn't mean you should and that the effects look better for it.

 

The traditional effects work on the ghosts in the original movie look way more believable as ghosts than this super sharp neon CGI crap.

. for example The last starfighter   of the same year   had visual effects beyond  what  

well i am just saying if they had the use of CGI back then who knows they would have made the movie using  CGI back then and ther  budget for the film back then was $30million   and that was a huge for the time  the  Last starfighter that used alot of CGI at the time  cost only $15million    and star trek 3 search for spock at the time had a $16million budget  and  way fx work then ghostbusters

Gotta love the feminist agenda being pushed, too. They couldn't make it any more blatant. The women are the heroes and the big strong man (who they are portraying as an idiot, too, looks like) is the helpless secretary.

uh...even the "newer" stuff in this trailer is terrible.

The problem is this film doesn't a bit of seriousness at all to it. The original film took itself seriously, even with the comedy. The ghosts in the original (except for Slimmer) were actually scary and came off realistic. The ghosts in this film are brightly colored and look cartoonish, simply not scary in the least bit.

 

The jokes in the trailer felt like the lowest common denominator type of comedy. And the worst part, they weren't even funny. I'd rather watch Sharknado because at least it is suppose to be bad on purpose. This film, it isn't Ghostbusters, but a straight to DVD rip off of the original film. The script was originally titled Supernaturalbusters, but Sony wanted something cheap and crappy to air on SyFy one day.

For me, there's no issue with the fact it's an all-female cast, it's the butchering of the roles. The jokes are predictable and base.

      Passkeys: Think of them like a broken heart necklace. Imagine one of those heart necklaces that breaks into two matching pieces. One person keeps one half, and the other person keeps the other half. With passkeys, the website has one half, and you have the other half. If the website gets hacked and someone steals its half, that stolen piece is useless by itself. It cannot unlock your account without your matching half. This particular heart necklace is one of a kind, there is only one in existence. Your half of the necklace has to be stored somewhere. It might be stored on your phone, tablet, computer, security key, or a password manager that can sync it between all your devices. A security key is a small physical device that you keep with you, kind of like a house key, car key, or flash drive. I would not usually recommend a security key as the first option for the average person. For most people, it is easier to use their phone, computer, or a password manager that can sync passkeys between their devices. A security key is more like a spare key you keep in a safe place, just in case you lose access to your other devices or your password manager. Some security keys plug into your computer. Some plug into your phone or tablet. Some get tapped against your device. The idea is simple: a security key can hold another passkey for the same website. Think of it like creating a second one-of-a-kind heart necklace for the same account. One necklace could be paired with your password manager, while another necklace could be paired with your security key. That means the website has more than one matching half on file. One half matches the passkey in your password manager. Another half matches the passkey stored on your security key. So, if you lose access to your phone, computer, or password manager, you would still be able to log in using the passkey stored on your security key. Think of it like keeping an extra special necklace piece on a tiny keychain, stored somewhere safe. The website still has the matching half for that security key, but your half is safely stored inside the little key. A passkey does not automatically exist on every device you own. It lives wherever you save it. If your half is stored on one device, then that device is the one that has the matching piece. For example, if you create the passkey on your Windows computer and it is only saved to that computer, your iPhone does not automatically have that same half. Instead of your half of the necklace being locked to only one device, the password manager can securely sync that half to your other approved devices. For example, Apple Passwords and iCloud Keychain can sync passkeys between your Apple devices. Google Password Manager can sync passkeys with your Google account. But password managers such as 1Password and Bitwarden can sync passkeys between everything, your phones, tablets and computers. Now, you might ask: “What happens if I lose access to the device that has my passkey?” That depends on where your passkey was saved and what recovery options the website gives you. If your passkey was synced through a password manager, you may be able to sign in from another device that has access to that same password manager. For example, if your passkey is saved in iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, 1Password, or Bitwarden, another approved device may still have access to it. If your passkey was saved only on one phone, computer, or security key, and you lose that device, then you may not have your half of the necklace anymore. In that case, you would usually need to use the website’s backup login or account recovery options. A lot of websites that support passkeys still let you fall back to your regular password. So if you lose access to your passkey, the site may still let you log in with your password, a code sent to your email, a text message, a recovery code, or some other account recovery process. That is convenient, but it is also important to understand: if the website still allows password login, then your password still matters. Passkeys are safer than passwords, but if your account still has a password as a backup, you should still use a strong, unique password and turn on two-factor authentication if the website offers it. This is why it is a good idea to have more than one safe way back into important accounts. For example, you might keep your passkey in a syncing password manager, add a second trusted device, save recovery codes somewhere safe, or set up a backup security key. A passkey is very secure, but just like a real key, you need a backup plan in case you lose access to it. Now, you might ask: “What stops a hacker from copying my half of the necklace?” That’s the important part: your half is protected. It is not something you type in, and it is not something the website gets to keep. Think of your half as being locked inside a tiny safe on your phone, computer, security key, or password manager. That safe only opens when you approve it with your fingerprint, face, PIN, or device password. When you log in, the website does not need to see your half. It only needs proof that your half matches its half. Your actual half is not handed over to the website. This is different from a password. With a password, you type the secret into the website. If you type it into a fake website, the hacker now has it. With a passkey, you are not typing your secret into the website. Your device is proving you have the matching half without giving the half away. That also helps protect you from fake websites. If someone makes a fake login page that looks like the real site, your device can tell it is not the real match. It will not use your passkey there. Now, could someone use your passkey if they stole your device, got into your password manager, or somehow unlocked the safe that holds your half? Yes, that is why your device password, PIN, fingerprint, face unlock, and password manager security still matter. But a hacker cannot just steal your passkey from the website or trick you into typing it into a fake page like they can with a password. That is why passkeys are safer than passwords. The two matching pieces have to come together, like two lovebirds who were once separated and are finally reunited.
