Need some help with subdomain and redirect.

Question

At our website at Godaddy I created a subdomain named mobile.kleinerts.com

The thing is when you type it in it redirects to www.kleinerts.com/mobile and goes to a 404 error page. Could this be caused by our .htaccess file?

I created this subdomain with Godaddy tech over the phone and then once it was created was going to install an application in there like Joomla. The folder where the subdomain points to is empty and it should have something in it.

It shows the application installed. Never had this problem with two other hosting/domain accounts we have. The subdomains worked just fine.

If you need to see the contents of the .htaccess let me know.

Thanks

Yeah i thought about that but the joomla or even wordpress did not install in the mobile folder. If they were there then perhaps it would work. That is probably the cause dont you think?

Will try something and get back here

I placed an index file in there and now it shows the page no 404 but again it shows in the address bar http://www.kleinerts.com/mobile/

It should be mobile.kleinerts.com

Go to the control panel that your host provider gave you.

Go to subdomain redirects section add redirect for that mobile folder..

For example:

http://domain.com/mobile to http://mobile.domain.com

Make sure to read the instructions carefully.
