One feature in IE 11 that I really like is the ability to eliminate the textual descriptions on the bookmark bar to allow many more bookmarks on the bar.

By eliminating the textual descriptions beside the the site "icon" on the bar, I am able to get approx. 40-50 shortcuts on the IE bookmark bar. If I want to know what site the icon represents I simply point over the icon to get a "tool tip" textual description of the name of the site.

I was wondering if anyone knew if Chrome had an extension to do this. It is one feature of IE11 that I really like.

Thanks.

This particular extension does offer ability you are looking for:

Name: Bookmark Favicon Changer

URL: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/bookmark-favicon-changer/acmfnomgphggonodopogfbmkneepfgnh

Option:

InOptions.PNG

End result for me:

Boo.PNG

To perform it over 500+ bookmark (like me) will be hassle. Though it does work indeed.  :D

You have over 500 bookmarks in your bookmarks toolbar  ?

Also the same method works on Firefox. Been using it for a few years now.

More than 600+, some in folders and some in bookmark toolbar..  :woot:
