How to find revision nr on my ASUS motherboard

Recommended Posts

It is generally printed on the motherboard itself, although it can be in different places so can't give you an exact location.

Have you tried looking on the box it came in? (assuming that its one you bough and installed, rather than a factory build)

It's in between the 4th and 5th PCI Slots.

HeHe forgot that you would know where it is exactly :)

I should have just waited for your reply :p

Where the ?%#=/% do i find it? Im gonna upgrade my bios, but i cant have revision 1.x motherboard, must have 2.0

So, how do i get that information? The manuals does not tell me anything.

Assuming it is a custom build....when you turn on the computer, you are going to see the memory numbers reading, hit the PAUSE key to stop the screen from continuing loading, at the top it should tell you REV #, I believe after Award Modular something BIOS.

Like I said, hit the PAUSE key to stop the screen, to get out of the PAUSE screen, hit enter.

Good luck

You can also go here Asus Tools and download the ASUS BIOS Update, install it and run it, let the server find out which revision you have and if there is an update, flash it, that's all :yes:

Yeah, i did that. But only the german server worked. I cant read german so i have problems finding out what the ACHTUNG say.. ehe :ninja:

this is what i get:

Wichtig:

Laden Sie VOR & NACH jedem Update

im BIOS die "Setup defaults" !

Ein BIOS-Update geschieht generell

auf eigene Gefahr.

ACHTUNG !

Diese BIOS ist nur f?r die

Platinen Revisionen 1.xx !

(siehe Platinenaufdruck)

FINAL = beta Status

1007 = 1007.002

The reason i wanna update bios is because the western digital external 250 gb i bought dont always work (xp just dont find it when i plug it inn)

What is the model of your motherboard?

I will try to get you the BIOS if I can get the model from you, all my motherboards are ASUS. They rock :yes:

Once you get the BIOS updated....You can also go here Enable 48-bit LBA Support. It tells you how to go to the registry and enable a value for hard disks bigger than 137GB

You do NOT NEED to do this if you are running Windows XP SP1
