Problems with Display since 10.10.4 update

Recommended Posts

HI Guys,

I have a 27 inch, late 2013 iMac which currently has Yosemite 10.10.4 installed on it..........but I've ran into some problems since updating to 10.10.4

The problem I have is that if I leave a program windows open or a Safari window open for a long time without closing it, the image of the app or web page seems to 'burn' into my background image and is also shown on the log on page. I then have to re-boot my machine at least 3 or 4 times before the 'burn' disappears.

The problem has only occurred since upgrading to 10.10.4

Is there a way to uninstall 10.10.4 and then try the upgrade again? or can anyone suggest a fix for this issue?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like image retention that affected some display panels. Only heard of this on the rMBPs (LG panels, Samsung ok) but a quick Google shows some late 2013 iMacs have a similar problem. Buy AppleCare and request they change the panel.

According to Apple, what you are seeing is normal for certain Apple displays *cough*

Try reapplying 10.10.4 https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1819

Youre not using a external display as well are you?

If that does not work you may need to contact Apple and request a Senior Adviser to get data sent up to engineering
