Terminal font in .NET

Im writing a program in VB.NET and i need to use the terminal font, but i cant select it in any dialogs and when i do it in code it reverts to microsoft san serif.

Is there a way i can select it, or is there a TrueType version on the terminal font avaliable.

This suggests that you can only use Truetype fonts - not bitmapped fonts (e.g. Terminal) with .NET/GDI+. Sorry! :)

The MSDN docs are pretty explicit in saying bitmapped fonts aren't supported. I don't know Joe White is talking about. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....ml/vbup2045.asp

Lucida Console comes pretty close to the terminal font look. Courier New is more typewriter-ish, but it could pass as a terminal font. Monospace is somewhat terminal looking, as well.

The reson i was asking was because i need some of the characters in the font, and i dont know of any substitutions avaliable

Which characters? Lucida Console has all the normal terminal characters, or at least it looks as though it does.

Lucida Console does have some of the same characters, but they dont map to the same letters.

BTW. the program is a viewer for ASCII Art files, so i really need the full character set.

If you can find it, MS Line Draw is a TT version of terminal fonts. I'm looking, too. It would be nice to have.

Scratch that.

Courier New allegedly maps 1-to-1 with MS Line Draw, which is no longer available.

Damn, cause i found out that MS Line Draw was supplied with Office 95, which i have

I found a download of MS Line Draw in about 2 minutes with Google.

I tried it in Visual Studio .NET, and it siad,

"Only TrueType fonts are supported, and this is not a TrueType font."

What is up with that?

I just tried it again, turns out Visual Studio doesnt recognize fonts that are installed when it's running, even though other apps do.

It works great, only 1 problem. The characters are the same, but the height isnt, so there are white lines in between the lines of the document, and that means the images look really wierd.
