Two-Factor Authentication. http://twofactorauth.org/

Looking through the list at http://twofactorauth.org/ it's amazing how many Banks and Big Investing sites don't support two-factor authentication.

The best Capital One 360 supports is "Multi factor" which they tout oooo we support security questions. Simple ones too, first pet, City Born, and School Mascott.. Just goes to show, Lie on security questions.

It's depressing..

some banks have numeric "tokens" which is basically 2factor auth, i wonder if that is considered?

Ya that would be under the hardware token column

Never liked a lot of the default security questions.  Most seem easy to guess.  Before I access my bank online from a new PC, I have to have a code emailed or text to me to allow access to the site.  And then they give a choice to allow this computer access without sending a code again.  I never select that option and put text alerts on my account.  Any transaction more than $1, I get a text on it. Doesn't matter if it is a withdraw or deposit.

The way things are these days, 2fa is a no brainier. Any company not offering it is plain lazy. I never liked security questions because 1. They usually don't allow you think create your own and 2. If the company is compromised, th answers to these questions can be used against the user on other sites.

Meanwhile in scandinava, they all had two factor in the form of a dongle or early code cards since they started with online banking.

I'll completely agree. As "The Donald" would say, people running on-line backing here are Stupid!
