[Spoiler] World Idol winner

Recommended Posts

eh, i managed to not catch any sleep at all, so i was awake watching the World Idol a few minutes ago. it seemed like Kurt (the guy who sang Beautiful day) won

i don't see how he won, half of those contestants sounded much better imho, even the runner up down here seemed to have a better voice. but really, i predicted either the British, American or Australian contestants would be the top 3.

regardless of him winning, i don't think he will be very famous worldwide. i always thought the winners of their country would always be their favourite singer (i.e. the Americans like their winner, British likes the British winner). so in popularity, my opinion is the country with the biggest population (more people liking Pop) will have the most famous idol.

only reason i stood up was to watch the worst singers (hehe :D) and Kelly Clarkson (she was damn hot) :)

your opinions?

Kurt was the best!!He got a incredible voice, even thoug I don't like his kind of music at all. But we're from the same country, so that basically explains why I think he was the best.

EDIT: Did any of you see the face of Kelly Clarkson when she didn't win??Bad looser i think, but she's very beautiful.

i just don't think he has the voice to be classified as a "pop singer". rock, maybe, but his choice of a song doesn't reflect his ability to sing a pop song. which explains why 2/3 of the constestants chose pop songs. :p

I think Kurt won because the pop industrys and record buyers integrity were on the line. What would it say about pop culture if the best singer didn?t win just because he looked like crap?

I don?t think he?ll be a World Idol though. But it?s cool that he won nonetheless..

what I don't get is that most of the people who vote are probably in the 14-18 age bracket, and all singers sang some old hit ..

It makes me wonder if the result would have been different if just one person had sung a justin timberlake song (for example). I think they missed the whole point of targetting the voting audience. (my opinion)

lol, I woke up to watch it too! I gotta say that the winner supprised me, and Guy didnt do as good as I thought he would.

I'm actually happy that Kurt won, shows that the industry could be heading away from cheap pop and back towards real music.

I'm actually glad the Kelly never won it now. Nothing against the USA, Kelly is great. At the start of the show I wanted her to win but when Kurt kept getting top marks from each country the look on her face was priceless, it was almost like she was disgusted that Kurt was winning, she looked shocked. At about the 3rd set of results I started desperately wanting her to loose, I just wanted to see her face if she lost, because you could tell that she was expecting to win the comp.

Amen!!

i'm really sorry, i emailed two admins and requested them to change the title asap. :(

It's alrite. You made a mistake no biggie. I still watched and was shocked he won so handlely. I also laughed cause the Canadian had the funniest face whenever he got higher then sixth. lol he really sucks.

Kurt ... That weener, won? What the hell is wrong with this world!!!

Guy was the best, all there is to it... And Kelly whatever her name is ... What an attention ######... This is all wrong. So wrong...

edit: Would also like to add that the two worst judges were:

1. The fricken dick head from the US -

2. The brain lacking twit from Poland.... Enough said... :|

It's based on vocal skill not the home town favourite that you think was cool.  The two with the best voice finished top two.

To me:

1. The Canadian Entry... Sang "He's not heavy, he's my brother" was the best.

2. The Australian Entry... Guy Sebastian

3. The heavy rocker dude! :punk: (Y)

4. -> Whatever... All lusers...

... and that Kelly Clarkson...   What a sore luser

1. The fricken dick head from the US -

the Polish judge who prentended to be a smart-arse by talking fast and ending all his sentences with "thank you!" really ****ed me off. i bet all the judges were swearing at him, but that probably got edited out.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
