Otsego AIM

Question

Ive been keeping tabs on this project for quite a while now and its just about to be released so I thought I'd give you all a heads up about it.

Its a modification program for AIM (just like deadaim), with many many (more) features.

Otsego AIM Website :ninja:

Looking nice, and almost done...

EDIT: o ya, and its free ;)

I've beening watching another one called Middle_man. I got it for the instant idle option, and it's free, still in beta though. But there's many planned features similar to those of otswego or whatever

I've watched it too but none of these add-ons support the latest aim beta yet so I stick with the previous beta with aimutation 1.2

.... sigh..... so the date "set in stone" never actually happened...

lol his away message all day was "**** off, ill release it when I want to, I have till 12"

the kid is just that, a kid. even if he did release it, I don't think I'd use it.

Yeah I just read that, why did they go freeware?

the two developers got in a fight for some reason, the one quit, and the other one being the only guy working on it + already being really mad at aim for realeasing all these crazy betas and having to recode the whole thing and deal with new skinning, he quit to. But they got two new people that are gonna try and keep it going

Well so far im liking it. Im glad you dont have to pay anymore. I dont use the skinning.

Solarix: it looks exactly the same as DeadAIM except it has some skinning(which you can disable), some transparency, plugins,

Things I dont like: The light doesn light up when the other person is typing...i loved that feature in deadaim

Can't say i really like aimutation much. I had to disable skinning because, frankly, most of the skins suck. there was also a problem with the menus. when i activated a menu, My Aim for instance, when I moved the mouse onto the menu, it shifted slightly. also, whenever I did something like resizing chat windows etc, everything seemed to blink?

I think ill stick to middle_man. even as a beta, it has the options i need, plus a few more that make using aim that much more enjoyable. I just love the ghosting, idle control, remove-your-own-username-from-buddy's-buddylist functions. :shifty:
