chrisj1968
I have the following specs on my gaming laptop; Intel iCore7 4700MQ 2.4 GHZ 16GB Ram Nvidia GTX 770M with 3GB Ram (onboard not shared) I am playing Arma2 and I noticed a Massive difference in texture quality besides the smooth graphics in game. in Windows 7 , 8 and 8.1, my graphics were NEVER this great looking. Does anyone have a URL or knowledge about DX12? I understand its in the core of Windows 10, it has been rebuilt or coded for improvements. But most of my games, not all have high texture qualities anyway but in the past windows versions, wasn't great. any resources on DX12 so I can read and understand how DX 12 functions within Windows 10 would be great and thank you all ahead of time. I'm impressed. I see no need as of now to buy Arma 3 as I'm getting ready to buy the Division by Ubisoft soon anyway and go on the hunt for neowinians. xendrome
i don't think Arma2 has any DX12 support or any planned. Maybe what you are running into is your laptop has 3GB of ram so it can load more/higher textures. What video cards are in your other systems? Expand This Toshiba Qosmio, which they no longer make is all I have, they moved to laptop to tablet systems now but I have no other systems. but the game runs a lot smoother in Windows 10 then any predecessor Windows. Jim K Global Moderator Posted March 22, 2016 Global Moderator Share Posted March 22, 2016 Arma 2 doesn't utilize Directx 12. It is also a little bit older game (09?) ... so ... why does it look better on 10? Dunno...maybe you're using more optimized settings/different hardware configuration? I have re-verified my Video settings. but the textures seem to refresh at the start to very high and I feel like I'm looking at real trees. It probably has to do with better drivers and probably better/more efficient hardware this time around.
