How does Voice Command work for you? Is it worth the money? Does the recognition work good? I'm thinking about whether to get it. :)

On my Dell Axim X3i I have:

Eidos Tomb Raider | Not Free | here | Good old Tomb Raider 1

Microsoft Cubicle Chaos | Free | here | A break out style game

Microsoft Remote Display Control | Free | here | For remotely control my PDA from my computer

Adobe Acrobat Reader | Free | here | For reading PDF's on my PDA

Dell Axim X3 drivers patch | Free | For Dell Axims only | Updates some ROM stuff

InsertCredit Battery Bar | Free | here | Adds battery power, RAM usage and memory space left on the Today screen

Spb Full Screen Keyboard | Not Free | here | A full screen key board for input

Resco Explorer 2003 | Not Free | here | A better file explorer with Network, zip and Registry access

Microsoft PPC 2003 - MSN Update | Free | here | To make MSN Messenger work on the new protocol

Pocket Slides | Not Free | here | For viewing and editing Microsoft Power Point slides

Intinus Icbar | Free | here | Makes the start bar look like XP and more configurable like the X button actually closes the program rather than minimising it

Other stuff on on the remove programs menu:

Display Off | Free | here | Turns the screen off to save power, but keeps running programs running, eg while using it as an MP3 player

VNC Viewer | Free | here | For remotely control all my other computers

Pocket Genesis | Free | here | For playing all my old Mega Drive games like Sonic 1 and 2 etc

And thats about it . Took me about 30 mins to come up with that list

Yeah there are 1000's of programs for Pocket PC, some of them good and some of them aload off rubbish  Most of the stuff I use is quite useful, but it depends what you are using your PDA for. I am using mine for taking notes in my lectures at university as all my classes are in Power Point it useful for making notes on all the slides etc.

Most Pocket PCs come with a transcriber where you can just wright in your own handwriting and it will convert it to text, but I am not that good at it, thats where that full screen keyboard is useful.

Voice command is awesome...

You say "Play music", it will ask you "What do you want to play? Album, Artist, Genre, or Everything?". I say "Artist", It says "Which artist would you like to hear? Baby Bash, DMX, Snoop Dogg, Everclear, Stacey Orrico, Weird Al", I say "DMX" and it opens and adds all DMX that you have on your Pocket PC to the playlist and will play it.

Anywho, this is what I have on my Dell Axim x3i...

Magic Button - Makes it so the "x" button actually closes the application. Also can turn the text "start" into something of a taskbar. link |free|

Voice Commander 1.0 - the recognition is pretty good. And if all your music is formatted right, it is really nice in the car. Can't wait for 2.0

Pocket Informant 4.5 - meh...i'm not too impressed with this. It's like a dog to load. And by default it is too bloated and doesn't come with options to trim away the features i never access.

this is what i got on my HP iPaq Pocket PC h1930:

ChessBase Pocket Fritz 2 [not free] US$ 49.95

Voice Command seems a bit pointless ATM... Best use so far is being able to run an app by saying its name... like "Start Turn Off" for NiceStart's shutdown... So it's not really worth the money.

    • Nvidia GeForce NOW gains support for seven more games as discounts continue by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe There's a brand-new update rolling out to Nvidia's GeForce NOW streaming service, and like every week, that means more games have received support on the platform. This week's drop has additions like Aphelion and Pro Cycling Manager 26 attached to it. Don't forget that the GeForce NOW summer sale is still active too. This limited-time offer drops the 12-month Performance membership from $99.99 to $64.99, saving members $35. At the same time, the 12-month Ultimate membership is currently going for $129.99, dropping the price by $70 from the original $199.99. Moreover, Nvidia reiterated that support for GOG single sign-in and game library is incoming this summer, joining stores like Steam, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, and Xbox. "Connect supported game store accounts and stream titles with GeForce RTX power. Games that include cloud-save functionality help keep progress intact across devices," added the company. "Start a game on one screen, pick up where playtime left off on another, and spend less time managing installs and storage space." Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Embers of the Uncrowned Demo (New release on Steam, available 13) Pro Cycling Manager 26 (New release on Steam, available June 15) Aphelion (Steam) Citizen Sleeper (Epic Game Store, Free from June 18-25) Megastore Simulator (Steam) OPERATOR (Steam) Super Meat Boy 3D (Xbox, available on Game Pass) Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month, with extra time being purchasable in chunks.
