It should get you medium high considering the minimum they recommend is a 660. You're two generations above that.

As for the drive space requirement it seems about right for a new game these days. 40-50gb is what I would have expected.

I don't know, when I was looking at the 960 benches it seemed barely better than a 760, which is a jump from the 660 but...disappointing.  we'll see

Decent gameplay so far from what I've played, performance on console is terrible though (dips as low as 20fps in several places and slow load times):

From what I've heard, it's not much better on PCs: http://www.pcgamer.com/deus-ex-mankind-divideds-pc-port-suffers-technical-issues-backlash-over-pre-order-bonuses-devs-working-on-fix/

And to top things off, they've crammed in a game mode - Breach - that is full of microtransactions: http://www.thejimquisition.com/mankind-divideds-breach-mode-is-designed-to-divide-you-from-your-money/

Perf is fine on PC if you use appropriate settings

So far I like the game but I've been feeling too tired to get really into it.

What's he whining about now?  If it's the cheats you can buy or packs you can buy in Breach but earn often, who even cares?  If people want to spend their money on them that's fine, but nobody actually needs to.

Nope, it's not that, although Breach gets briefly mentioned.

It shows how greedy Square Enix are, though, that they'd shoehorn microtransactions into a game that was designed without them in mind.

Jim put out a follow-up video overnight that has some pretty interesting details from someone at Eidos Montreal who was involved in the game's development. Regardless of your stance on microtransactions, it's well worth watching.

He hasn't been worth watching yet, so I'll pass.

I have yet to see a Youtube celebrity worth wasting my time on.

Why did you even ask what he's talking about and provide a counter-argument to what you think he said in the video, if he's not worth wasting your time on? Seems rather contradictory.

Because I wasn't about to watch the video, obviously.  I'm wasting my time on you guys, not him.

What was the point of "If it's the cheats you can buy or packs you can buy in Breach but earn often, who even cares?  If people want to spend their money on them that's fine, but nobody actually needs to." if you had no intention on seeing the video or waiting for someone to tell you what it was about? It's obvious you have something against him, but at this point, it looks like you enjoy wasting time on your make-believe.

Every time everyone has brought him up, with few exceptions, it's been about something stupid.  So sure, I have something against people who post pointless drivel as gospel.

You'd first have to know what he's talking about for this argument to work, otherwise it's just your make-believe again. How do you know this wasn't one of those exceptions?

Anyway, that question was rhetorical and as much as I like pointing out your straw-man, this topic isn't about Jim Sterling. If you want to talk about what he actually says of the game and its development process, then continue by all means, otherwise, we'd better drop it.

And just so you know, I'm not some fanboy of his, it just happens that we agree on the expanding role of microtransactions in full priced games, Mankind Divided in particular as it is a single player game.

    • Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Reality Elite chip brings on-device AI to Android XR devices by Pradeep Viswanathan Qualcomm has been delivering dedicated SoCs for mixed reality and spatial computing devices for several years. The journey started with the Snapdragon XR1, followed by the Snapdragon XR2 in 2019, the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 in September 2023, and finally the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 in 2024. Today, Qualcomm announced a major upgrade with the new Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform, which targets premium mixed reality and spatial computing devices. OEMs can use this SoC to power both all-in-one video-see-through headsets and lightweight, tethered optical-see-through glasses. Qualcomm highlighted that the Snapdragon Reality Elite will power the next wave of Android XR devices coming later this year. These wearables will offer better visuals, improved power efficiency, and deeper on-device AI integration compared to the previous generation. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can deliver up to 48 TOPS of AI performance, allowing large language models and large vision models to run directly on the device for the first time. In addition to enabling new spatial AI experiences, these new AI capabilities will improve head and hand tracking, as well as see-through features. On the performance side, the Snapdragon Reality Elite offers up to 60% higher GPU performance, up to 30% higher CPU performance, and up to 160% higher NPU performance compared to the previous generation. The platform supports visuals of up to 4.4K per eye at 90 frames per second for sharper images and smoother motion. Qualcomm is also claiming significant efficiency improvements. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can offer up to 20% longer battery life under the same workload. More importantly, the chipset can run up to 12 degrees Celsius cooler under load, making headsets more comfortable for users to wear for longer periods. The platform also includes improvements to video see-through, featuring lower latency and better image quality. Qualcomm states that its EVA hardware block helps accelerate demanding computer vision workloads, improving how digital content blends with the real world.
    • Umm... GitHub continues to use AWS. That's the story, that's the headline. There's no "new" news here. GitHub continues to require additional capacity beyond the originally-planned Azure allocations. There's nothing special about this; nothing noteworthy. They're still using AWS' infra until the cutover is complete.

    • "just $100 per TB"? Just? Are we trying to make this seem like the new normal? Kinda weird to make it sound like that is not a ridiculously expensive asking price.
