Dawn of war II and all it's expansion is probably one of my all time favorite games. I thought for sure after THQ went under that we'd never see another Dawn of War game but here it is.

Edit: Put in gamers hangout because they haven't said what systems it will be on yet.

I was a fan of the cover system in DOW2, I believe they cut it from 3, it may be a while before I pick it up if that's the case. :(

I was as well and they have dropped it.  Now there is some sort of bubble cover "simplification".  Seems like a step back to me as well but their argument seems to be that the detailed cover of DOW2 made sense for small unit tactics but with 3 they're going for much larger battles and micromanaging that level of cover in real-time would be cumbersome.  I'm not sure I agree but for me while a regression it's not enough to kill my enthusiasm as a whole.

I concur, but I was looking for a reason to get back off my potato after breaking down and selling my last rig BUT this isn't it (or at least not yet, I'll wait for the reviews)

I really like DoW II, when I got into the DoW II, the original already aged quite badly in my opinion, I couldn't get into DoW seemed like a step backwards...

I really hope the  new DoW III is more like the second one.

There is going to be a multiplayer open beta in the coming weeks:

Really though. It's a week before the game is going to be released. Let's call it what it actually is. A playable demo to boost hype. They won't be making any changes to the game based on feedback they receive from the "open beta" a week before launch.

    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
    • Outlook classic is inherently better than new outlook, for a number of reasons. That said, if the only reason people need office is to read email, they should just use thunderbird.
