IGN have released 24 minutes (10 full waves) of the latest iteration of GoW4's horde mode.

It looks like it's truly evolved another step to include a central "device" known as the fabricator that you and your team will now use to build up your defences and to unlock bigger and better weapons. There also looks to be an element of Call of Duty's Kill confirmed mode in those enemies that have been destroyed also seem to drop a form of currency that can then be used with the Fabricator for the bigger better defences.

I've personally always been a big fan of the Gears Horde mode since it was first introduced, time will tell if these new mechanics will further improve the model or not but at first glimpses, I'm definitely more interested thanks to this.

I've always been a Horde fan.. I'm not sure if this fabricator does actually do anything significant. It seems like right now it's the same thing as going into the menu directly to choose your base build/fortifications. However, it's not shown that if it can be destroyed. What if the fabricator gets destroyed and you can't use it anymore? Possibly a game changer.

I would imagine that's the point of it, if its destroyed it will either be game over you lose or the rest of the waves will be instantly harder as you can't rebuild any defences etc.

This version of horde is going to mean you have to work as a team more than in the past, I played horde in GoW3 so much but it was never really something that was that team based, in many games lots of players would go around solo and just kill as many as you could etc.     3.0 looks like its more of a team style, with classes, and it makes or tries to, make you work as a unit to defend a "base".

I love co-op games so the idea of me and a few friends playing this kind of game mode massively appeals.
