uBlock vs uBlock Origin

I've been using uBlock Origin on my Windows systems for quite a while now, but when I have to use macOS, if I want to use an adblocker for Safari, I'm limited to basically ABP or uBlock.

 

I've googled around the differences between uBlock and uBlock origin, and from what I've read the owners had a falling out and split off into different products. People seem to avoid uBlock like the plague in favor of uBlock origin, and many have been vocal about how terrible regular uBlock is, but I can never find out why, just that they didn't agree with how the owner runs his project.

 

Are there any major issues with using "regular" uBlock as opposed to Origin? Or are these people putting it down blowing smoke?

uBlock like ABP are selling access to users and showing "approved ads" to users, avoid at all costs

 

Just don't use Safari and use a better choice

Adguard is an available browser extension for Safari, too!

 

But yeah, Safari has some extension API limitations that ad blockers run into, e.g. limited to 50,000 rules for all ad blocking filter lists with the newer API.

I use Adguard in Safari. Works fine for me.

i onmly ever used Adblock Plus an Ublock Origin, i dont have anymore Javascript errors now that i use Ublock Origin. i used to get heaps of them.
