Anyone know of a script like ajaxim but runs on PHP/MySQL?

Yeah I'm looking at ajaxim and it looks like that it has what I an wanting to use but it use node.js so it not going to be ideal for what I would want to use it for.

Would anyone know of anything like it? Also it needs to be open source so that I can fork it for my custom forum script.

Do you plan to implement real time chat in a specific forum engine? Since most forums have messaging build in already it would be a matter of implementing some client side changes to show that chat as a realtime chat window. Which means there shouldn't be any need of additional / editing server side code in that case.
